Springhill Suites by Marriott Williamsburg

Very roomy suite and close to Busch Gardens. Within walking distance to shops and food. Clean. Beds were amazing. Slightly rundown. Our light switch in the bathroom wouldn’t stay down periodically and the light would come back on. Our windows can be opened up and ours must have been slammed down at one point because it didn’t close all the way ( slight draft) and it was cracked) That didn’t effect our stay though.

The front desk staff seemed annoyed when I asked her to verify my Marriott rewards number. The room was very odd-shaped; I also found that the coffee pot didn't work, and it was right next to the men’s and women’s public bathrooms and was very loud! I will not stay at Marriott again!!

Arrived and was told they had no room for us. Along with 4 other families. First was told it was because we were 3rd party. Then Bonvoy member arrived with no room. Then was told “Reservations don’t work like that. It’s what’s available now.” Lord help humans. Never stay here. On the positive side, was generously accommodated by Comfort Inn Gateway with a great rate, excellent service. Lovely staff, clean rooms, nice pool. In all my 30 years of frequent travel around the world, never had a hotel shrug their shoulders to 5 families and simply turn their backs. I never leave negative reviews but apparently Spring Hill Suites is doing all that it can to earn one. Just a warning to others. We stay at Marriotts frequently because they are usually good and reasonable. We will not make the same mistake of supporting this specific hotel.

Great breakfast, nothing broken Scammy system if you use guest laundry and don’t use quarters. It’s expensive to start with cards but it tries to either surcharge you or make you pay more than needed into an online account. They would never get away with this on the front desk, why do it in the laundry room? Spoiled a near perfect experience.
