It's hard to pick out one thing that makes the George Washington excellent. Is it the staff? Yes. But is it the ambiance of an historic hotel? Certainly. How about the location? For sure! Can it be the memories of past stays? Oh, yes as we always celebrate our anniversary in Winchester. What about the actual room? That jacuzzi and rain forest shower, king bed, and fireplace rocks! Here's an idea...put my excellent review to the test yourself!

The AC in our room wasn’t working properly and wouldn’t go below 74°.

However the staff was incredibly courteous and helpful to try and rectify all issues. We were compt a dinner, two breakfast meals and the $15 a day parking for the 4 nights we stayed. They certainly did what they could with what they had available. When staying in a place such as this my number 1 goal is comfort... The issues and the heat of the rooms took from this in a large way unfortunately.

AC did not work in first suite. First and second suite sleeper sofa mattresses were dirty. Staff was helpful and polite.

It's a lovely hotel in a great location to the pedestrian area. Our bed was super comfortable and the towels super soft. Room was clean ..elevator needed vac. Parking should be complimentary. Bar area is beautiful.

Check in was not great bc the room wasn’t ready when we arrived and nobody called us when it was available. That said We enjoyed touring the town while waiting , it’s a good stop on the way south .

The 20's decor and authentic details added to classy feel of the hotel. Unique Romanesque pool. 5 minute walk to the Pedestrian Mall.

This was our third stay at the George Washington and our go to when we are in Winchester. Convenient location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Staff is excellent!

Great hotel to stay near Old Town Winchester. Lots of good places to eat and see, all within walking distance. I highly recommend it.

Everything was good except bathroom was small and tiny counter space.
