You expect quaint. You get unsafe, unsanitary and rudeness. You realize from the check-in through a tiny gated slot that this is not going well. You climb the rickety stairs up and follow the uneven hallway down to the room and use your old fashioned door key to enter. Inside the room is extremely outdated, mismatched, and smells of old Chinese food. The sheets are stained. There is no AC in the Florida summer. There are wire hangars in the open closets. It feels depressing, dank and eerie like you are in a horror movie or a made for tv movie drama about a single mom escaping an abusive husband down on her luck who has to stay here just to hide herself and her children. We immediately returned to the check-in slot to request a refund and were denied. We had paid $500 for two nights at this disastrous place and both the property and Expedia refused to correct this travesty. I forgot to mention they charged extra beyond what Expedia had already charged at the check-in. Lesson learned: don't trust any photos on Expedia, only other travelers' reviews. I should have relied more heavily on those but I was drawn in by the romance of a vintage hotel on the lake. Instead if you want to enjoy Florida lake life (although who really does now with all the alligators in the news?!) stay at the nearby Best Western Plus.

Room was clean. Could use a little updating. The view of the lake was wonderful. Being able to sit out by the lake was very nice. It was very quiet there. I would stay there again.

Me and my husband, traveled with our 5 and 8 year old so we could just sleep at a "cheap" hotel and go to legoland in the morning. "Cheap" being almost 200 dollars...The good....I liked that the hotel had free parking and was 4 mins away from Legoland and that it was located on a lake....The sheets and bedding were clean and the bed comfy....Shower had good water pressure. Those are the positives... The bad and the ugly.....pretty decrepit hotel....old school and slow service. No computers - just a clip board to fill out our info at checkin....Old school hotel keys.....i'm sure some guests liked the nostalgia of it looking the same as 30 years ago, but for new guests it's just a hard pass.....furniture was old, peeling and outdated. Overall smell had a slight dusty musty smell, but people will pay since it's so close to the hotel and will deal with it thinking they're getting a good deal. IT's NOT. just fork up the extra 50-100 bucks and stay at the Legoland beach bungalows- they're cleaner and more kid friendly and cheaper than the main Legoland hotel.... This spot- although on a lake and fishing friendly had homeless people squatting in the patio areas of the back and had fast traffic whizzing by so kinda beats the purpose of a relaxing nature vibe. Don't waste your money.

Toilet was clogged but they came and unclogged right away. Wasn't the cleanist and really needs upgrades. Location was nice and the view of the lake was nice.

Gorgeous sunset views over the lake- boating/waterskiing beach, great for fishing, too. Near Legoland. My room wasn't waterfront, and was fairly dismal- last remodel appears from the 90s, so much room freshener, I wondered what they were trying to cover up,beds weren't comfortable. Significantly overpriced at $120/night; based on the room, alone; $80/night more accurately reflects value.
