Homewood Suites by Hilton Yorktown Newport News

Know that the images of an indoor pool on their website are fakes, even though they are labeled as coming from guests. The pool is outside and small. In room phones weren’t connected. We found our room to be quiet and weren’t bothered. It was a nice stay even though just a single night. It would be a fine suite for multiple nights.

Would have been nice if we were notified of the elevator was broken. Up on 3rd floor had to carry 5 suitcases and a cooler down 3 flights. With cleaning staff laughing about it

I always love the spaciousness and layout of Homewood suites. The front staff was so accommodating and nice. They really made the stay better than it would otherwise have been. As Homewood suites go, this one was not quite up to the quality of some others (e.g. Boulder, CO; Pleasant Hill, CA). Those ones have slightly more upgraded furniture and a door between the bed and the rest of the room and a dining room table. This one was smaller and one single space with no dining area. There was also an issue with hot water not working consistently. BUT, the staff tried to get it working and comped me HIlton points for the inconvenience. It wasn't their fault. The grounds of those other Homewoods are also nicer because they're laid out with a courtyard, 2 stories and the rooms all near parking spaces that surround the building. This one felt more like a Comfort Inn BUT it is definitely head and tails above other hotels in the area. So, for the area it's probably a 10/10. The management does the best with what they have. I only mention these negatives in case, as a traveler, you're expecting Homewood Suites like the ones I've stayed in other places.

The kitchen area was a huge plus, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious good. I also appreciated how peaceful the hotel felt, even when it was busy. It’s clear the team takes pride in keeping everything clean and running smoothly.

The room was decent/average. The issues were the booking site stated indoor pool and hot tub several times……however, they do not have either. There is onsite laundry for $4/load. Pricey but convenient. Close by shopping.

I stayed here for 4 days and my room smelled like mildew the entire time I was there. I also had no hot water my last 3 nights there. When I brought to the front desk they could not move and only offered to spray a deodorizer that helped for maybe an hour. I received no help or compensation from anyone. It was the worst stay at a hotel I have ever had.

The room was clean, the TV entertainment options were great, and as a Hilton Honors member, I loved seeing my name displayed on the TV when I entered the room. Having a full kitchen was an added bonus! Karen at the front desk was wonderful and took great care of me, even after spending quite a bit of time helping another guest get settled into their room. I’ll definitely be returning—hopefully on a day when I’m not working, because the highway construction was not pleasant! I honestly didn’t want to get out of the bed. My only downside was that the pool is outdoors rather than indoors, but overall, I had a great experience and would happily stay here again.

The property is in a newer neighborhood, very clean, and I enjoyed my stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Bathroom shower did not produce HOT water only Luke warm all the time

Beautiful hotel, Ms. Karen was the most helpful, sweetest person we have ever dealt with on vacation. She made our trip so much more enjoyable with her and the teams exceptional service Having to leave would be the only thing we didn't like

We had a very positive stay! Ms. Karen at Reception was quite friendly, personable, and efficient. Her joy was infectious. Our room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The breakfast area was clean, well stocked with a variety of breakfast items, and the tables were adequately spaced. We will return to this establishment when we pass this way again- if for no other reason than to laugh with Ms. Karen!

Shower dirty and moldy floor wasn’t vacuum.Couch had food on it. Food on wall of refrigerator, black rubber molding fell off on floor. Sink wasn’t clean. They came to vacuum but didn’t do a good job and still didn’t wipe down properly.

The staff was amazing I love them dearly. They accommodated mi when needed and made my 35th birthday a delight.

Room 401 is in need of maintenance work, especially in the bathroom. The touch up paint performed previously was horrible. The painter who did the work previously should not be allow to work anymore as he/she splattered paint elsewhere except the intended surface. The kitchen cabinet was missing a door. The furniture, ottoman, had a ripped surface and should have been retired.

According to what I seen hot tub was nonexistent, need to update information and Photos of that property.

The convenience to stores and restaurants. The bed was a little soft
