Suburban Studios Altoona

Great spot in Altoona. Near restaurants, shops and the highway. Very friendly front desk staff. I needed some help with my door card and I saw them helping others with their situations too. The room was good. Clean. The breakfast has a lot of choices. My only issue was a weird smell in the hallway. Probably just a strong cleaning solution. Once I was in my room, I couldn’t smell it. Felt safe. Slept well. I’d stay there again; it was much better than the nearby place I stayed in last time.

Lee kept the coffee hot and was a pleasure to talk to. We enjoyed our stay after a long day of travel and a baseball game.

Rooms have a kitchette, but no kitchen supplies are available. This was not noted in the listing description

The front desk guy was so friendly and helpful. He helped with our TV remote control issue and recommended a place to eat. Very convenient location and the room was very spacious. Only downfall, I would recommend updating the bathroom, specially the bathtub. Otherwise, everything was great! Would definitely stay there again.

If you don't care about having wifi, then this is the place for you.

Location and Five Star staff The sheer curtains on the window are in need of replacement. Not a game changer but does look a bit shabby. Other than that, everything was fine as usual.

Not sure about the background, but Suburban is with the Quality Inn — same building, same check in. Worked out great either way. Clean, quiet room. Nice breakfast. Convenient for Altoona things to do!

I chose the place because it was inexpensive and had very good reviews. It was an adequate hotel. The room was clean bathroom looked dirty: I don’t think it was actually dirty, but there was dried, discolored caulk in the shower that was unappealing and rust water stains on the sides of the shower. The breakfast was okay. It was the usual fare: a variety of baked goods (muffins, bagels, donuts) and instant eggs, sausage. They had cereal and yogurt. We did not use the pool or the outside sitting areas. There were families with young children and they seemed to be enjoying their first experience. The rooms doors did little to block the sound. So, I think we got what we paid for. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
