Alex Hotel & Suites Anchorage Airport

We were in a room with 2 double beds but only 1 bedside table between the beds. The room needed refurbishing, the windows were so dirty we couldn’t see out which was a pity because we wanted to watch the float planes. The air conditioning unit was very noisy. We had to ask for clean towels twice in our 7 day stay and the rubbish was not removed.

Location, beds fine, room clean, nicer than I expected from outside Old building, breakfast not good. Thought for that much money it would be nicer.

I didn’t take advantage of the breakfast this trip. The shuttle service to the hotel requires more attention on the part of the driver for his passengers.

Terrible. Need a full refund asap

This property needs upgrades. I felt like I needed to wear slippers in my room and the bathroom area is in dire need of upgrades. The price is very high for what this property offers.

This place horrible. Its not kept up on maintenance. Widows are gross, carpets are gross, The breakfast is basic and I wouldnt recomend eating the sausage. I had a talk with some local folks who said the city pays to put the homeless there during the winter.

Staff at the front desk were cordial and informed. The breakfast offering was anemic. Just a bad breakfast Buffett. I wouldn’t feed it to my dogs.

Free airport shuttle Old and in need of modernisation

The room was a nice size. Breakfast was good with eggs and other warm offerings. Dinner was also available on-site for a reasonable price. Transportation was available. We needed four shuttle runs, and three were exceptionally on time. They also offered to hold our luggage while on excursions for days and held our fish in a walk-in freezer until we flew out free of charge. Very MUCH APPRECIATED! One shuttle ride left us at the train station as the last people out of about 200 people in a not-so-safe location. They said the shuttle would pick us up in 20 minutes, and we were there for almost an hour. That was the only time the shuttle was late, however. This hotel is located in a bad neighborhood but a decent stay if you plan on an overnight stay or plan on traveling out daily. Personally, I would opt for the nicer hotel up the road at The Lakefront next time. They have a great restaurant in-house and a much better, safer feel to them.

The staff is so helpful. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t arrive until almost 2 AM but someone came to pick us up within like 15 minutes. Nothing fancy. Just basic. But it was fine for the one night that we needed.

We made the reservation in error 2 days before the actual reservation date. Within 24 hours we realized that the reservation was not needed because our cruise was going to end a day later than we thought originally so we called Expedia to see if anything can be done. The hotel refused to work with Expedia and they also refused to provide any type of refund even partially. The manager was rude so lesson learned not to ever book anything with a 6 customer satisfaction rate
