The exterior looks nice and they have some cool taxidermy. But, the breakfast was meager and we couldn’t get the toaster or microwave to work. The sheets were scratchy. And worst of all, when I got up the next morning, I had 5 new bug bites (bed bugs!?). I told the front desk and she wrote it down. Said “I’m sorry about that. And when are you checking out?”

The hotel sits right on Spenard and the walls are thin and traffic goes late into the night. At 4 AM a drunk man shouted at the top of his lungs profanities none stop right below the motel balconies for close to thirty minutes. No effort by the hotel staff to move him along or call police.

It is a nice hotel right by a lake where the biplanes take off. Fun to watch. If you need a dark room to sleep - this isn’t your hotel, unless you bring something for your eyes. The curtains let light in and this time of year it is light for a very long time!

During my stay, one of the exterior entrance doors did not lock, which was a significant security concern for the Annex. Combined with my own research about the surrounding area, I did not feel as safe

Very spacious and comfortable room, beds were very comfortable and staff were helpful

Front desk staff was the best! Quick shuttle to the airport is so convenient and enjoyed the drivers. go across the street for Chopped and Chowdered and enjoy some of the best food in Alaska

Couldn't complain about anything

When I walked in the room, there was an air blower in operation. The room was hot. The air conditioner was very loud. Difficult night's sleep.
-
Room for as very basic. Motel style room on the second floor. Nothing special but adequate. Hotel lobby was very nice. Breakfast was not very good. No hot food available. Make your own waffles and toast some bread and bagels. Had yogurt and fruit and coffee.

Clean room..property is older. Breakfast didnt have many options. Was expecting full continental breakfast eith scrambled eggs/ boiled eggs/ potatoes etc.
-
My room was on the ground floor beside the elevator. Everytime anyone used the elevator there were extremely loud mechanical grinding sounds which made it impossible to sleep, as people used the lift regularly throughout the evening and night. This room should not be let to a paying guest. For the price paid, at what is probably a peak time, this hotel really under delivers.
-
Puffin Inn looks great at first glance. But the rooms are substandard, and the continental breakfast was bleak. I found it insulting. The rooms were small and basic. It was also in a bad location. Upon check-in a drunk native came in and was showed the door. I will not stay there again.

Good

Pretty good price and location.
-
Friendly staff and good breakfast.
-
The breakfast was very poor, it was bagels and toast and there was one toaster for everyone, of which 2 of the four toasting slots were broken. It also took an hour for fresh coffee to be available from when I arrived at the start of the breakfast service. There are other things to mention, but you get the idea. For a stay costing around £200/night it was not what I expected.
-
The staff was friendly, as was the atmosphere. Overall, it was what we expected for the price.
-
It looks like the first part of the hotel the main building was probably decent, but that’s not where we got to stay.
-
convenient airport location with free shuttle

There are two signs of this hotel one side is new. One side is 75 years old. We stayed in the 75-year-old side is not updated or modernized very much.
