Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Anchorage Airport

The property was older, but our room was very clean and the staff was excellent.

Hotel needs updating, hall carpeting is dirty, grounds are in terrible shape with piles of brush in the back on the grassy area behind the hotel that is hotel property, very limited selection on the Continental breakfast, kitchen appliances are missing knobs on the stove refrigerator doors dented, locks missing on doors to rooms, bathroom door would not close all the way. Night time staff friendly morning staff did not even bother to speak to you.

We felt unsafe. The property was dilapidated and worn out. Open holes in the ceilings in the halls. There was homeless sleeping on the grounds and in cars with broken out windows on the property. There appeared to be drug sales on the property. There is no elevator at the property and they put us in a 1st floor unit, We heard men talking outside our bedroom window at 2 AM during the night. I slept with my knife under my pillow. This rates as the absolute worst motel/hotel we have ever seen in the USA. We would have left but were only there for one night flying out of ANC so we persevered for 18 hours but it was a terrible experience.

free shuttle from the airport It took an hour for the shuttle from the airport to arrive & I had to call twice to get it. We also were told when reserving the room we could have free transportation to the train station. When we checked in, they said they don't usually do that but they would & don't sign the sheet. Then I was told it would be 30 minutes until we could get to the train station in the morning & we had to pay for an uber

The room was in terrible shape. Holes and wiring patched. The room was not clean, towels were dirty. I went to buy my own cleaning supplies to feel comfortable putting my things on surface areas.

Exceptionally helpful staff

So dirty! No elevator. Noisy from upstairs tromping! Can’t stress enough it’s filth. Disappointed that this was an Expedia choice!!!!

The water in the shower was hot and nice！Breakfast was convinient and shuttle bus was very helpful！

Original room smelled terrible, like cigarette smoke and cooked food. Moved to second room which was better but still bad. Room hotel phone inoperative. No dial tone. No housekeeping service provided. Fire extinguisher mounted 30” FROM THE CEILING!! Where’s OSHA when you need them? Unsafe bath. No grab bars, very slippery tub, exhaust fan doesn’t work. No tissues in the container. Kitchen had a sink, stove and refrigerator. No utensils, glasses, cups, plates, pots, pans or paper products. But we did find an open package of string cheese in the fridge, which was nice. AC inoperative. Notifed the front desk but no one came to look at it.

The room was pretty dirty, floors had not been mopped and even the toilet was dirty. It would be a fine place to stay if it had been cleaner but it just felt gross in the room.
