Hyatt Place Anchorage Midtown

Shuttle took a long time and couldn’t accommodate everyone, so took about 40 minutes to get picked up.

2026 newer hotel very well maintained with clean rooms. Decent breakfast included however I miss the Hyatt Place breakfast of pre covid times. I like the spacious suite style rooms.

This was a nice, clean hotel. The beds were comfortable, great black out shades (if you know Alaska in the summer, that was a WIN!) and decent hot breakfast. We stayed here on the front and back end of our trip and highly recommend.

Friendly staff. We were assigned a room that was not ready. Staff apologized and upgraded our room at no charge.

Bar was closed at check-in due to no bartender, which later turned into the restaurant not opening at all for the evening. Stains on the fold out sofa and missing linens. Noise pollution was high, lots of sound coming through the outside windows. The morning of check-out a large gash in the ceiling started dripping water on the floor. It took nearly 10 minutes to get the front desk on the phone and another 10 minutes for maintenance to arrive. Breakfast was lackluster as were the convenience options available for purchase. Homeless people roaming the property outside.

We arrived at 7pm and our room was not ready. I believe that if the room is guaranteed at 4pm that we should be able to arrive after that time and obtain a room fairly quickly (assuming there is a reservation). After a long day traveling, it was extremely frustrating to have to wait for a room and we were not compensated at all for the inconvenience.

The breakfast was not good. Limited selection. The eggs had a very foul odor. We ended up grocery shopping for breakfast items for the following morning.

Breakfast started running out of food at 8:45am (breakfast ends at 9:30am). There was no coffee left by 9:30am. Other than that the hotel was nice and staff helpful.

Run down, gross breakfast. Too many other options in midtown to make this a place we’d return.

Front desk person was very helpful. We arrived after 5:00 pm and not all of the rooms were available because they were short staffed. The rooms were very spacious but not well maintained. One of the cabinets in the kitchen had a door that had been broken. We reported it and they said they weren’t aware of the damage. Scary since they have our credit card on file in case of incidentals or damage. Carpet worn. Bedding wasn’t great but we were exhausted and slept well. Breakfast wasn’t served until 6 or 6:30 and our flights were at 5:00 so we weren’t able to try it. There was lots of space and the dining area looked clean.

Prices are very steep in Anchorage in the summer and we understand....however, the sheets were extremely thin....top sheet had cuts in the shape of an "L". I really expected to have better linens for Hyatt. The linens have long since seen better days, being extremely thin says they were thin from the start. Over $1,000.00 for 2 rooms one night...I think they could do a lot better.

Staff and breakfast were amazing. Beds comfortable. Only complaint is their housekeepers might be overworked or undertrained as the floor was not vacuumed and there was an old jelly stain on the wall. Bathroom was immaculate on the other hand and beds super comfy.
