The concierge Ari was very friendly. My room was dirty and the beds were still wet. A bug even bit my mom’s leg at night but we couldn’t see what it was. I wish it was more cleaner.

I feel as expensive and high accommodations there were, that the use of amenities could have been higher

I would give the hotel a 5-star rating if the price-value was better. My typical room was $340 plus $75 to park. Other than being a bit pricy, the location was perfect and the hotel was nice!

I like the fact that it is one of the few pet friendly place around Asbury.

Maid service was difficult to come by. By the end of the weekend, garbage was flowing out of my room. We were in pitch black when the power went out because of the storm- not exactly their fault but no one was around to help any of the guests. That and the $90 parking for the holiday weekend pushed things to the limit a bit. I wish there was more hospitality shown towards its guests on a busy holiday weekend.

The Berkeley is my go to for close to home Beach- it is across the street from the Beach, Dog friendly, near the Dog Beach, Near the Restaurants and quiet area.

Valet was $90. But you cannot call down to request your car. You must come down and physically wait for it. Which not sure if this hotel understands what "Valet" is but thats not it. On Sunday during check out hours there were minimum 10 people and families waiting for their cars while 1 person was on staff. Our room was damp and moist. In fact the corner of the rooms carpet near the AC was soaking wet. We called down to ask about it and the response was "yes we are aware but cannot do anything about it right now" Last but not least the power at the hotel went out for hours. How does a hotel on the beach of this size not have generators. No other hotels in Asbury lost power. We spent almost $1100 per night on this hotel. NOT WORTH IT! There are much better options in Asbury Park.

Our rooms were very clean, and the staff were attentive. No complaints.

They gave our room away and blamed Hotels.com for the “overbooking”. They programmed our key for an occupied room, and we walked in on another guest! Because it was July 4th weekend, they were sold out and forced our party of 5 into a standard 2-queen room (we paid for a pull-out sofa). Squeezing 5 people into a 4-person room gave me a terrible neck ache, and all they offered to make it right was two free drinks. We were offered our money back, but after 2 hour ride from Brooklyn- there was no other stay options. On top of that, the elevators were so slow we had to carry our own luggage down the stairs. Housekeeping never vacuumed during our stay, either. The only saving grace was that they brought up extra towels quickly. Total management failure.

The hotel was poorly managed and way under staffed for how busy it was on holiday weekend and most workers were pretty rude.
-
The staff was rude, not trained well, nor helpful. When the power went out, I asked the staff if there was a plan and I was met with “what kinda of plan would you like us to have?” I shared that I felt unsafe, and the two men working did not reassure me and in fact started to yell at me and provoke me. I’ve stayed here for the past three years on the fourth and it seems to have different management year after year. Good luck to who’s running it next summer! You have your work cut out for you.

Customer service was poor. Promises were made about rooms and compensation for issues that could not be resolved. Although the hotel itself was nice and clean. Location was great. The issues with the staff and the rooms made the vacation much more difficult especially for disabled people.

I've been to Asbury Park many times, but this was my first stay at the Berkeley. The room was very nice, comfortable beds and very quiet. I never heard any noise from other guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't know we would have to pay for parking, but we found free parking several blocks away. The pool was very nice, as was the outdoor patio area. The only improvement I can think of was that the towels were stiff. Considering the hotel is upscale, it would have been nice to have soft, luxurious towels. I recommend this hotel and would come back again.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly!

Booked the room for a business trip that went longer than expected. During my last week, after booking the hotel room for an additional week, I was informed that my stay was being cut in half, leaving me with few options to find another hotel room during a holiday weekend. Avoid this hotel like the plague.

Great location with a nice pool. Since returning home though, i discovered that i’d been charged for 2 nights instead of only the 1 night. The desk staff assured me on check in that I had only been charged for 1 night. I was somehow booked in by expedia for a previous night

Clean, but room was not serviced until after 6 pm both days. Extra charges make it much more expensive.

The hotel was beautiful and the front desk was super nice! Can't wait to you back :)
