Holiday Inn Express & Suites Asheville Downtown by IHG

One elevator was out of order. The hotel was very busy, which made for long waits. Carrying luggage and packages up the stairs was not ideal.

Nice Neighborhood close to Downtown plus close to food and gas stations, large and clean Self parking lot. 100% Recommended

I completely understand that a power outage is beyond the hotel's control. What was disappointing was how the situation was handled. No one called, texted, or emailed me before I arrived, even though a simple notification would have given me the opportunity to make other arrangements. When I arrived, the staff also seemed surprisingly unapologetic and offered no assistance in finding another hotel, despite the difficult position this put their guests in. With hotels often filling up quickly in the Asheville area, especially on short notice, that lack of communication and customer service made an already stressful situation much worse. There was no effort to suggest nearby accommodations, transfer me to another property, or offer any goodwill gesture, such as a voucher or credit for a future stay. After traveling so far, I was simply left to start searching for a room on my own. I understand that power outages are beyond a hotel's control. However, communication, empathy, and helping displaced guests are absolutely within their control. Unfortunately, those were the areas where this experience fell well short of expectations.

All was good except the spa was closed and the pool didn’t look very clean. I recommend keeping breakfast open till at least 10:00 am. Our room was well designed and spacious.

Comfortable and clean stay

So, overall our stay was mostly enjoyable. Lots of positives and some negative. Property is quiet, safe, and in a good and convenient location. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was quite spacious. Staff were very friendly that we dealt with! Negatives… when we arrived, we had to wait almost ten minutes for a front desk attendant to assist us at check in. The mini fridge in our room was absolutely not working. Lastly, PLEASE make your check out noon like a lot of other places and not 11. But outside of those issues, it was a pleasant stay!

They canceled my entire reservation when I called to let them know my flight was delayed by one day due to weather. Ended up sleeping in the rental car the first night when they surprised me with the news and told me there were no vacancies. Would not recommend

It was a very good hotel!

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was excellent! Plenty of outlets beside the bed and throughout the room. The room was very spacious. I would definitely stay there again! Complimentary water would be nice, but otherwise, we enjoyed everything!

The day shift manager did an outstanding job from a customer service standpoint!!! Lots of potential wrong turns to get to the hotel. Just remember to turn at the stoplight.

I liked the hot options coffee was not available till 6:30 but we were told it would be available earlier

The breakfast was excellent!! The staff was excellent and very helpful. Location was ok, I thought it was going to be closer to downtown. But I loved that there was parking and it was secure. My room had a funky smell to it, but it appeared clean. It probably needs new carpeting.
