Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book hotel rooms for out-of-town wedding guests in Asheville?
For popular wedding dates in Asheville, especially during spring and fall, book your guest-room block at least six to nine months ahead. If you need a block of 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking; for 8 or fewer, you can book self-serve. Securing rooms early gives your guests the best availability and rates.
Can Engine help me book both the guest rooms and the reception space at the same hotel?
Yes. For a block of 9 or more guest rooms, Engine Groups handles the room-block booking; for 8 or fewer, you book self-serve. The hotel's event and reception space can be booked through Engine Spaces, Engine's free marketplace of hotel meeting and event spaces across the U.S. and Canada, or arranged with the hotel directly.
How does billing work when I reserve a room block for my wedding?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing so you receive one clear bill instead of juggling individual reservations. You also get multiple payment options and there's no membership fee. This makes managing your wedding guest rooms straightforward, whether you're covering the block yourself or coordinating payments with family.
What should I compare when deciding which hotel is best for my wedding guests?
Start with location, especially proximity to your ceremony or reception venue if they're held off-site. Then compare room counts, nightly rates, and on-site amenities like parking, breakfast, and shuttle service. If you're hosting your reception at the hotel, review the event-space options and capacity to make sure they fit your guest list and vision.
What makes a hotel a good fit for hosting a wedding in Asheville?
Look for properties with dedicated reception and banquet space, enough guest rooms for out-of-town visitors, and room for getting ready on the big day. The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa offers about 18,000 square feet in its largest ballroom and 24 event spaces across 513 rooms, while the Renaissance Asheville Downtown Hotel and Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville each provide multiple ballrooms and over 270 rooms. Amenities like catering, on-site coordination, and getting-ready suites vary by property, so confirm details directly with the hotel.
