Wonderful room, meals, spa and service!

Our rooms were a bit out of date. Comfortable but need updating as far as decorating. Staff was wonderful…the hotel itself was great!

The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly This 1913 resort has the best views in Asheville and is quite large it can take 10 min to walk to the great lobby from your room. The sports complex is a hike down a very steep hill and has a variety of classes and decent weight and cardio rooms as wells as Peloton bikes and indoor pool. The outdoor pool is part of golf club and members go there as well. If you’re not at pool there isn’t anywhere to sit. Lots of kids but no adult only pool. Breakfast is buffet style and very comprehensive with great omelet chef Kenji. There’s something for every kind of dietary need. The rooms are well appointed. A bit worn but comfortable with great views of the smoky mountains 3 onsite restaurants are decent with lots of options. It’s magical and everyone should try to get there at least for two nights. We stayed over July 4 holiday and they presented their own fireworks show which was surprisingly impressive. Overall a decent stay, just a bit overcrowded with full capacity this weekend

Geri at the front desk was absolutely the best. She takes customer service to,the next level. She should definitely be in charge of training.

Overall, the Grove Park Inn is a very nice hotel. However, be aware that what you see online isn't what you get. We were extremely upset to be told that the beautiful indoor/outdoor pool featured prominently in photos would cost us an extra $500 per day to use and we would have to take a shuttle bus to another pool half a mile away! We felt that this is a bait and switch, as the photos of this area was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Then, on top of that, we were charged a hefty “resort fee” even though everything (e.g. pools, pickleball,) costs extra already is ridiculous! When my husband looked to see what it covered, he saw that it covered a newspaper (which we never received), coffee in the room (which we did not use), and the shuttle to the off-site pool. The self-parking was also over-priced; we self-park in midtown Manhattan for less than that! It was also disappointing to find that there was no a la carte option for breakfast; considering that there are five restaurants on the property, it would be nice if one of them served an a la carte breakfast. My husband and I are small eaters, so we did not want to pay $70 a day for a huge buffet that we were not going to eat. Our room was not made up on one day of our stay, despite my calling to let them know that it hadn't been done, and we ran out of soap in the shower while we were there. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and lovely historic building but definitely has some shortcomings.

    Amazing views and stunning lobby.

I really wanted to swim at the spa pool, but the cost of $250 for past my budget.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Excellent attentive staff. Everyone was so courteous and willing to assist. The room was beautiful and everything was high quality and up to date, but still period looking to fit the age of the inn. We had a king room and it was so spacious with plenty of seating and an amazing view. The shower in the bathroom was incredible.

    The scenery Inhospitable

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Beautiful place. HOWEVER- The cool cavern pool is part of the Spa. You have to book that in advance. That is a bit of a bait and switch as they make it seem like it is the standard pool you can just go to, which is definitely s NOT.

Wow. Worth every penny. Massive facility with everything you could wish for right there with a lodge vibe. Workout facility is top notch, swam, body sculpting classes, and lots of pickleball fun. Food is fantastic at all restaurants. Asheville is such a wonderful place.

All the amenities are a separate charge from room rental. Mountain vie room is just the golf course view. The spa pool/ indoor mountain pool is $200dls plus per person. Even with having a room reservation parking in the premises are charged separate. Beautiful place to stay, however expect to spend extra from the room reservation.

The views are beautiful. The employees are all amazing. The food was excellent. The dueling piano players were no bueno. The bathroom was tiny. The toilet tub and sink are crammed together. The shower had two body washes and conditioner. No shampoo. The pool was small and packed. Day use at the spa is the way to go but pricey. They limit capacity which is nice and necessary.

They spa couples massage was excellent. The concierge lounge well staffed and maintain Club level was an exquisite idea and way to go.

the Spa experience was definitely a high point along with dinner at the Sunset Terrace. However, NIGHTMARE making reservations.. we had a party of 13 and did not want the prefix menu do they made me call, wait on hold for at least 10 minutes to reserve a table.. then they wouldn’t let me reserve 3 tables so they made me go through that saga of calling 3 xs!! Room was adequate… maid had taken the 2 glasses that were in our room so we called the front desk for more. We were disconnected 3 xs.. I even tried to call on my cell. Finally got someone and they said they could bring up 1 as the glasses were just being washed?!?!?! Insane.. also had questions about the crazy hold that is put on your bill with every purchase.. manager finally came over to try and explain and then said to my friend.. I just want to get you out of here?!?!?! Insane.. we spent $1000’s as a group and that was just a bit of what we experienced. To say nothing of the Pesidential suite that my friend booked that was unbelievably sub par for the $
