The Staff has always been attentive to visiting guests & I wish them all the Very best! This Inn has walkable access to some of Asheville's finest restaurants

The building is a very cozy, historic hotel with friendly and welcoming staff. The squeaky, antiquated floors add to the charm, but aren't for everyone. With a blend of modern deco while staying true to the 1924 bones, it's a beautiful place. Hope to stay again sometime soon.

Very cozy and welcoming. Loved the fireplace and the wine and cheese in the evenings. The heater in our room didn’t work the best and it was cold weather. The front desk lady did her best to help and gave us a space heater but it was still a bit chilly.

Staff was wonderful. For sure, we will come back. Would be nice to have breakfast at the facility. Being an old building, a couple thing needs to be fixed such as the elevator. Heating was not working perfectly during the first night.

This is a really neat, historic hotel. I wanted to love it, but was disappointed in several things. The hotel elevator is not working, which is okay, but it would have been nice for that to be clearly disclosed before booking. Same with the parking. There is a lot, but you have to walk up a good deal of stairs and none of the lights in the parking lot or up the stairs work, so it felt unsafe. The hotel has a cool esthetic if you like historical buildings, which we do. But there was a serious mold problem in the shower, which isn't about age. The batteries in the AC remote for the bedroom also weren't working, and we would have let someone know, but unfortunately didn't discover it until late at night. The TV was also having issues for any of the streaming services. They are all small things, but it was kind of a lot of small things that added up to make our stay less than stellar. It's a cool hotel, but they just need to work on some things.

The quaintness and history of the hotel, the size of the rooms and the closeness to Biltmore were exactly what we needed. The elevator was out, so you had to take your luggage up the stairs. The heating unit in the room did not work and the temperature outside was less than 25°. The light below the microwave was a strobe due to a possible short. Refreshments in the lobby were lacking. The daytime concierge was socially awkward, and seemed like he did not like his job.

Lovely historic hotel. Crappy sheets.

Room temperature was difficult to adjust and the room was too warm at night; windows could not be opened. This is an older property, which has some charm but VERY creaky wood floors. We stayed on the second of three floors and our first night the guest on the third floor was walking around much of the night. Fortunately he moved out the next day as our request for a room change could not be honored. The breakfast / dining options nearby were good.

I was excited about the charm of this hotel in Ashville. It has the potential to be SUPER charming, however the owners obliterated all the charm. The furnishings were more "garage sale" or college dorm than quaint. And it needs a massive amount of TLC/cleaning. The exterior porches and grounds were covered with leaves, sticks, mildew and cobwebs. Supposedly there was no breakfast due to a hurricane two years ago...seems suspicious....Same for the elevator - that was't a big deal and was communicated ahead of time.

Not the cleanest place very old some bathrooms are updated some are not. Great service and good location

Fantastic!

Apartment size room. Walkable to downtown Asheville The hotel had to discontinue their gourmet breakfast but we had a full kitchen

Nice place with good staff. Enjoyed our stay. Wife found a cockroach behind our room door. She hates them so we will not be going back.

We have stayed here a couple of times and absolutely love the character of the building, the history, the food, the staff, the location and mingling with other quests. We miss the breakfast. We enjoyed the social hour except we recall the one hour service to include snacks and wine of your choice including the amount. We were given one glass and told that a second glass would be $8. They don't serve breakfast any longer nor does the elevator work because of the flood. Owners should invest in repairing what is necessary to bring the building back. Our room had space heaters which blew the electrical breaker on the coldest nights of the year. The cold was pretty miserable. We had very little tv service. Purchasing cable along with streaming could fix that problem. During social hour, in the lobby, it was bitterly cold. We had jackets on the second night and did not linger. It is sad because we probably won't return unless we understand that these issues have been corrected. We love this place but not in this condition.

The Manager, Acorn, was so hospitable I could stay there all year. Nothing

The facility seemed tired and worn. The elevator hasn’t been working since last year’s flood and could be a serious issue for people with mobility issues. The rooms need to be gone over and had gauges in the wall and worn paint fixed up. The sink stopper didn’t work. There was no welcome drink as promised, the staff was uninformed about restaurants to suggest and was not very friendly. The room size was good, beds comfy and location was good but it was an uninspired stay.

There was no heat in the room except for a small plug in heater that couldn’t keep up because of the large gaps in the windows. The toilet had to be fixed twice after it wouldn’t fill back up after flushing. The hot water was luke warm at best. The elevator is permanently out of service. The front desk was too busy to be of much help. We were told we could check out a night early and receive a refund for that night because of the heat not working. Now we can’t get credit for that night because they won’t answer the phone. Do not stay here. It is about 50 years past its prime.

Rooms were very cozy & well kept! Our bed was better than any hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, dare I say better than my own bed at home! Floors were very loud and creaky, but that is expected from a nearly 100 year old building. The robes were soft and cozy, and the other amenities were amazing! Complimentary cocktails and light bites every evening, plenty of lobby space to hang out by the fireplace, and the hotel is near so much to explore in downtown Asheville!! We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely stay again!!

Beautiful old property in a quiet part of town just a short distance from downtown and the river arts district.
