Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Athens-University Area

I booked last minute when the original hotel was uninhabitable. They took me same day and it was a very clean hotel, and a pleasant stay.

Staff did not clean room on day 2, never saw them We were so disgusted we checked out one day early!!

Nice location for us. Quiet inside. Lots of parking. Felt like a safe area.

Staff was nice There was an event in town, so the rates were doubled. That is not a $350 a night establishment .

Foyer / reception modern, bright, clean, spacious. Room large and comfortable. Bathroom very modern. Gym pretty compact with just free weights and small number cardio machines. Free breakfast okay - basic! Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Great coffee at Jittery Joes. Too far to walk to UGA - I was told just over mile but it’s more like 2-2.5 miles. Good size car park.

Exceptional through and through. Highly recommend.

This property is newly renovated. The continental breakfast options change daily and they’re not bad. Staff is friendly.

The property is always clean and nice. The staff is always nice and helpful. Always smile. I always stay at this property when I travel to Athens for work.

2. Since laundry is provided for guests, there should be a way to obtain quarters. 3. HVAC in the room would toggle between AC and heat. There was no way to make it AC only. Waking up in the middle of the night hot because the heater kicked on was bad. 4. Staff was not friendly or helpful. 5. The area seemed sketchy.

Breakfast wasn’t good. Also, it would be nice to have a variety of coffee creamer for guess with food allergies.

It was our second time staying here while visiting our daughter at UGA. Very nice and clean. Parking can be an issue.

Hotel was good. Very quiet - probably wasn’t full, but I heard zero noise - no doors, elevators, hall noises, etc., so that was nice. Wasn’t impressed with the area of the hotel, but it was significantly cheaper than the more down town options. Still quick and easy to campus. Plus, Andy’s Frozen Custard is right next door, if you want a snack!

Breakfast was great! Staff were super friendly We asked for turkey bacon and the chef brought it out to our table :)

Pool was small but clean and enjoyable. The breakfast bar was pretty good. The staff was ok. Kept knocking on the door before checkout time. Our refrigerator didn't work, the air kept quitting and it was rather hot trying to sleep. Overall the trip was rather good but the staff wasn't very friendly. They got us a new refrigerator. I didn't bother telling them about the air because they were kind of unapproachable. Also the elevator made a crazy noise and seemed like it dropped a few feet so we took the stairs the rest of the trip because the staff didn't seem very concerned.
