The Hotel Palms Poolside

For the age of the property, the room was one of the cleanest I've ever seen! I worked in hotels for years; and I am Very critical! I'm telling you... The cleanliness was impressive! The parking is a bit challenging; but, it seems to work out just fine as long as the other guests recognize and participate. The location is convenient to almost anything you might want/need. It's quiet and well lit at night. My one criticism would be... They need more counter space and/or shelves in the bathroom. Otherwise, we fully intend to stay with them again in November!

Absolutely perfect stay in Atlantic Beach, close to restaurants and bars and beach access. Wonderful motel, hip coffee shop attached to lobby, amazing staff at motel.

A nice place within walking distance to the beach. Nice size rooms with kitchens. A decent value motel. Complimentary parking is available. Yet, it seemed there's more rooms than parking spots since I had to park on the street, which wasn't a problem the night I stayed. Overall a satisfactory stay!

Bottom line - if you need only a bed and running water (hopefully), this place could work. Don't expect things to work and don't expect anyone there to help you with anything. There are much nicer hotels nearby for similar price - go to them.

I stay here whenever I take my self-retreat trip to Neptune Beach because of the personalized service I’ve always received. The location is perfectly positioned a few walkable blocks from all the shops and restaurants, and sunrise ritual on the beach. Presently, under a new owner, this was my first stay as such and I was pleasantly surprised by the continued down to earth staff and improved amenities like a specialized quart of spring water in my room. Although the pool was under rehabilitation, the staff made up for it with a partnership at one of the big players in the area. This hotel “punches above its weight-class” according to the valets I met in town and my own opinion. What it’s not; makes it special…if you’re into simple, clean, comfy W style bedding, a place to crash after enjoying the town and beach, a relaxing pool deck, and like-minded guests..this place is for you. Madison is the best.

The room was very small. The swimming pool on site was not available. Did not get free breakfast.Borrowed pool was 4 blocks away had to walk to could not drive and park and there was 2 handicap people .And there pool was very small as well. Expected something total different from picks online

Updated room and bathroom, very nice! Comfortable, cool and quiet, which allowed me to get excellent sleep.

Great location, very clean, and welcoming and helpful staff. The beds, while clean, could be upgraded.

Great place to stay. Our room was clean. There was plenty of lighting when we came later in the evening to our room. It made it safer.

Nice and Coozy, good for a lil retreat

Left for airport prior to breakfast, so can't speak on it, but the room was very nice! The proximity to Atlantic Beach neighborhood is ideal, as well as close to Mayport base and JAX isn't that far. Felt a bit nervous about leaving the room key in the wooden box that doesn't lock.

Place was great in everything except the pool was drained while I was there :(

Very clean and bedding was nice. I think I should have been told pool was closed for repairs prior to arrival. The staff did offer passes to a nearby pool. As it turns out, i would not have used anyway. I think from an integrity perspective, customers should be told. My biggest issue was with a room change due to lack of hot water. I understand these things happen and I was given a supposedly better room. The problem was that the "king" room I was given was not remotely as good as the one I left. No dresser/drawers, no bathroom counter, really no flat surfaces to put stuff on, no trash can at desk (just tiny one in bathroom), dimly lit bathroom. It was really not a comfortable room to me. The prior room was very well equipped. I would suggest manager / owner spend a few days in their rooms.
