The Carpenter Hotel

This is the second time I have stayed here and I noticed a change in service which was not for the better. There was a downgrade in quality and cleanliness that surprised me I hope it’s just a transition to new ownership or something.

Cool vibe and clean

Loved it, rooms were fantastic - service was perfection. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer.

Very comfortable room with balcony overlooking lovely pool. Nice bar and restaurant. Coffee shop was crowded in the morning and no coffee available in the room other than room service.

Polite staff and clean hotel. Easy to get to and from the local area.

Nice pool. Staff was very helpful. I definitely would stay here again.

This hotel is a gem! It has a carefully curated boutique aesthetic, genuinely friendly and helpful staff, and a delightful restaurant. Great for business travelers and couples alike, and honestly, if I lived in Austin I'd book it as a staycation spot.

No coffee pots in the rooms. When ordering room service coffee, it was delivered in paper cups, cold. No carafe. The hotel restaurant cafe was late opening both mornings. No Kleenex, one roll of TP and cheap, no guaranteed parking but still charged $35/night. I can go on…..

The Carpenter Hotel is a tropical oasis in the heart of Austin. We live in Austin but spent a weekend in the hotel and the lush gardens by the pool and open air dining felt like we had gone to Central America without the flights. The coffee shop is excellent as is the restaurant. We had complementary glass of chilled prosecco on our arrival. The hotel is built in the brutal architectural style and is tastefully and thoughtfully fitted out. Very close to many unique restaurants, urban trails and Barton Springs.

It’s close to the springs and designed nicely. I had one negative interaction with the staff who didn’t understand the fees that were already paid via booking. She was young and a bit immature/unprofessional. And then right after I had an extremely positive interaction with another staff member who figured out what my booking was. She knew how to welcome people and the other one was just surly and not at all hospitable.

Lovely space, saltwater pool, fab food and drinks

Beautiful and unique hotel that’s perfectly located on the river. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was well designed. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating

I absolutely love the Carpenter! We're from Austin and have stayed here for a little staycation on my birthday and my sister's. It's extremely comfortable and calming environment. The balcony and pool especially are great. It's very central to the rest of downtown areas you might want to go to. During both stays, we've walked to dinner, which is not always possible in Austin. Nothing!

i had a wonderful experience at The Carpenter Hotel and would love to stay here again if i come back to Austin in the future!

The property was gorgeous. We loved the hotel and the beds were so comfy! The pool was a bit crowded, but that is to be expected in the summer. The only downfall for us was at the TV in the room didn’t work.
