Holiday Inn & Suites Bakersfield by IHG

Breakfast buffet was an additional $18 per person which seemed to surprise many. Quality was equivalent to "no added cost" elsewhere. Handicap parking was beyond and farther, by far, than regular non handicap spaces. When I pointed that out to check in person, I was told Bakersfield city government runs the parking lot (!!!) so that can't be changed. Tough to be ambulatory challenged. I've stayed at many Holiday Inns over the years... this one stands out, for sure.

Terrible location except that it was close to Costco for gas. Staff very knowledgeable kind and helpful. Room air conditioning needs upgrade.

The property is conveniently located and us well maintained. I'd stay there again without a doubt.

The next morning, the staff tried to charge me extra for breakfast, even though it was included in my booking. I also noticed that I wasn’t the only guest having this issue—they were asking several other guests to pay for breakfast as well. In addition, the hotel’s furniture was old and worn out, and several chairs were broken, making the overall experience feel poorly maintained. Overall, the hotel did not provide the amenities and service that were advertised, and I would not recommend staying here unless these issues are addressed.

The only issue I had was the noise level from room doors and pool area woke me up. I was on the 1st floor. Breakfast was included and decent with friendly staff.

Clean and affordable.

We had stayed here before and had a great experience which Is why we chose to stay there again. The Carpet was nasty, we asked to be moved to a different room but there wasn't much difference, the room was smaller so less spots in the carpet to be noticed. I requested 4 extra pillows due to a procedure I had. I had to request a third time and got them 3 hours after I first requested them. Handle on the shower doors falling apart. We had to hold the handle on the toilet down for a good 6-7 seconds in order for it to flush. Tv was old. We won't be staying there again.

Overall, I feel like the amount of money I paid to stay there was way more than what my stay was worth. I will not be booking with any Holiday Inn after this.
