Old and dated. Pool was being maintained. Staff was very friendly.

Internet was down. We got locked out of our room because something about our key messed up...

Can't complain too much, the door to my room was difficult to open, needs to be adjusted. Ice machine is only on the first floor, cart for bringing in luggage was wobbly, and inaccessible when I checked in, but was available when I checked out. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Had dead stink bugs in the window seal of the room pool was closed

I had a good stay at this hotel. They had renovations going on which disrupted some of the accommodations. The staff was very helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. I would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed at the Hampton in Battle Creek for the weekend because we had a wedding in Marshall. It did its purpose because we were only there to sleep but the room had trash behind the nightstand from previous guests. The showers water pressure was terrible, and it barely drained. The tv stand was broken and you had to use all your might to open and shut the hotel room door.

These people need to notify before arrival that basic amenities like an in-room refrigerator and microwave are not available.

A decent stay of you are passing through. The staff was excellent. The beds were very comfortable. The building is old and the hallways smelled of smoke, although the rooms were fine. They seem to be in the beginning stages of renovating so the pool was empty and the first floor rooms did not have fridges or microwaves.

When we arrived, we were informed the room we booked was not available. The pool was closed, they did not have ice and the elevator did not work. We were not very happy.

We couldn't check in when we got there front desk person didn't know how to check us in so we had to wait for the person coming in to check us in. The elevator was broken abs I was on top floor with a bad back. Couldn't enjoy breakfast because I couldn't do the steps because elevator was broken. The pool was empty in the middle of summer. They didn't bother telling us it was out. Would never stay there again

The breakfast was amazing! So many options, everything was fresh and delicious, absolutely exceeded my expectations for a free breakfast! The staff was very pleasant and attentive and worked very hard to ensure guests were well taken care of. We had to ask for linens at the front desk for the sofa bed rather than them already being in the room , and the fitted sheet was the wrong size. We made it work, but it was inconvenient. I've worked in hotel housekeeping in the past and was surprised that the linens weren't already in the room.

Breakfast area was clean and good. Room was clean and comfortable . Dog run was supported with bags and it was clean. Desk personnel at check in was busy on the phone dealing with a long exchange. At checkout a cleaning staff had to look for the desk clerk. The doors are heavily painted and required SEVERAL strong attempts to open our room door and the most terrifying was in the morning when we couldn’t exit our room. (And we are not handicapped or lacking strength) stairway doors were also stuck to the point of being unusable. The sign at the entrance said it was under renovations. We saw no evidence of that . The overly painted doors are a hazard. Booking.com gave no warning of this condition. Won’t use Booking.com again

It was quiet, room was nice, breakfast was good

No pool, ice machines, or refrigerators in working order. Not very clean! Don’t recommend.

We personally were not impacted much by the “old stuff” but every time we went by the front desk others staying there were complaining. Some rooms did not have fridges as expected, all ice machines were broke, complaining about the conditions of carpets, bathrooms, and a guy mentioned moldy smell in his room, the pool closed at some point, and the elevator went out for a couple hours. We had a bathroom door that had gaps when it closed, the tub looked pretty worn, a hook came off the wall, and there were some noises that sounded like old pipes. We were there for baseball so the ice machines being out weren’t ideal. We experienced many positives - friendly staff attempting to handle what they could that was within their control (renovations were planned by the larger company), a decent breakfast with waffle makers, something hot, bakery items, and cereal, coffee that was actually better than many other hotels, comfortable beds, clean room with a fridge and microwave, great water pressure that stayed hot, and located in a great spot near many stores and food choices. So, if staying here and there are certain amenities you prioritize, I would call the hotel and discuss things to be sure they can meet your needs as they go through their renovations.

We needed a refrigerator and it didn’t have one

i paid for 2 nights for my birthday. when we arrived i felt like we got what we paid for. pool. small gym area breakfast buffet that was actually pretty good and a nice variety. however, the place is rated 7/10 for a reason. our toilet hardly flushed, you would have to hold it down for a while and sometimes that didn’t even work. while the room itself was pretty clean. the bathtub wasn’t the cleanest. there was also a leak in the ceiling in the hallway right outside that was not being fixed, made a huge puddle on carpet. was really gross to have to walk in to go to breakfast. and just when i thought i got what i paid for and was pretty okay with the circumstances, we got locked out of our room. we just got back from the casino it was about 1am. we at first thought it was the cards so we went to the front desk and couldn’t get help for about 20 minutes and then someone finally came. she swapped out our cards and then disappeared again. the cards didn't work we couldn’t find her for another 10 minutes. she then didn’t know what to do and had to call her boss. turns out the battery was dead in the door so she had to change them. all in all we were locked out for about 45 minutes. would not recommend.

The vent fan needs maintenance to fix a loud rattling sound when turned on. And the channel guide needs to be updated.
