Candlewood Suites Beachwood Cleveland by IHG

My room was recently remodeled in a pleasant, understated contemporary style. But the remodelers apparently forgot to install a toilet paper holder in the bathroom, and there was no toilet paper in the room when I first arrived. For some reason the room was fitted with floor-length blackout curtains that draped over the heating/cooling unit. Also the room had not been adequately cleaned; there were a few hairs on the bathroom floor, and a sticky residue on the counter in the kitchen area.

We booked this room for my mom - my dad was having a procedure at Cleveland Clinic and she needed to be close. It was convenient and fit the bill for her overnight stay perfectly. Thank you!

Great location Could have been cleaner

The room had a free standing closet but there were no hangers or even a bar to hang things on had we brought our own hangers. Someplace to hang a few articles of clothing would have been helpful.

The bathroom floor was dirty.

Shiny new and clean. Full kitchen in room. Clean new gym. Outdoor picnic table. Close to everything. Helpful staff. Many fob entry points so easy from car to room and vice versa. Walkable to good enough eating places. Icemaker in room—a nice touch. Thoughtfully equipped kitchen: toaster, coffee mugs, and enuf for making a quick pasta meal (there is a cooktop!). Very comfortable.

I was there for a funeral, but hotel stay made it much easier. Truly appreciate it.

I was very happy with our stay. The room was clean. The staff was helpful. There are no ice machines on the premises other than the ice maker in the fridge in the room. It’s very slow making ice. That would be my only complaint and it doesn’t rank as a high priority issue.

I used to stay at this location when it was another brand. I was honestly concerned that Candlewood had simply changed out their logo for the other one but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that they have redone the lobby and have renovated the rooms. The staff was warm, friendly and welcoming and Prit cheerfully helped me with bottled water for my daughter each morning. The Suites are conveniently located just off of Chagrin Blvd and there is a Target and a While Foods within a couple of miles in case you forgot something. The rooms are comfortable with new mattresses, fluffy comforters and a combination of firm and soft pillows that are discreetly identified by stitching on the pillowcases. The hotel is pet friendly and other pets were well controlled by their owners. The hotel was quiet, so we were able to get restful night's sleep. The room we stayed in (double queen) had a kitchenette with a sink, flattop stove and small refrigerator along with dinnerware, cookware and towels, dish soap and paper towels making meal prep (my breakfast granola and my dinner salad) easy and convenient given my food restrictions. The key cards worked correctly all weekend (an issue with the previous brand) and checkout was easy. I will definitely look to stay here the next time I am visiting family in the area. We did see a few carpenter ants over the weekend - not surprising given that they are in the process of renovating but it was nothing too bad or annoying to deter our stay.

Friendly and efficient staff at the front desk. The room cleanliness could improve in the details, like, there was an used band-aid in the chair, a pair of earrings on the floor, shower curtain had lots of stains.

Spacious rooms. Very clean. Bathroom facility great.

It is in a convenient location just off the interstate. It is very clean. We had a mini suite with a kitchen complete with a dishwasher and full refrigerator. There was plenty of storage spaces and a nice desk area for working. It was extremely quiet. It appears to be new. The price was great. The bathroom is missing a toilet paper holder, and could use a couple more towel holders as well. The blackout curtains covered the room air conditioner - so they had to be bunched above it to get any air circulation. Bottled water was $4 which we all know is an extreme price for bottled water. Night clerk was a bit disinterested in us as guests - not even greeting us when we came in. Overall, the facilities seem as if they are not quite finished.
