For having an excellent rating on Orbitz, I was definitely surprised at the problems there. When walking into the front area where they had their restaurant/bar, two women were standing and talking. I thought they were just guest of the place, but after I pushed a button that was at the counter to get somebody up there, they finally acknowledge that I was standing no more than 20 ft away from them and they were just shooting the breeze. The area where the desk was, smelled of natural gas. When I said something to the lady that finally came over and started checking me in, she said they were aware of it, but did not think that it was gas. I have worked around natural gas for years and I know the smell. It made me light-headed just being in there where the smell was. We got into our room and the first thing I noticed was a dehumidifier sitting under the counter. It was not running, because it was full. I emptied it and put the tray back in and it cut back on. The room smelled musty. While we were unloading our belongings to bring them in, the people that came in two doors down parked beside us and immediately came back out of the room and said that it wasn't clean. They then got placed in the room directly beside us, and it was not good either. Our room was clean and not too bad with the dehumidifier on, but the parking lot had gravel and dirt piled up and looked like a bad construction area. Don’t turn around when you see the outside of the property as you pull in your car to check in. It’s an old inn. The outside does need some TLC but the rooms are lovely. Super clean. Bed super comfortable. We stayed in a suite with a kitchenette with the courtyard view. Very nice. The kitchenette had everything we needed. And the courtyard is so nice. So cool you can hope in a short trail from the back of the property and explore the Cascade park. Breakfast was nice. If I’m in town again I would stay at this inn again

Nice and quiet

Outside didn't look great but the room was clean. Coffee supplies were a bit old. Staff was super helpful. Bartender was well versed in his craft. Love the smoking policy.

The location is extremely convenient, five minutes from the university/downtown by car. Loved the wild courtyard. The place is extremely dated and kind of falling apart at the edges. Booked a King Deluxe, got a room with a view of a wall. Room had a dank, uncomfortable feel about it. Everything was kind of crooked and falling apart. Dead bug inside the bathroom light. TV reception was absolutely terrible. Sad looking continental breakfast that we decided to skip even though it was complimentary.

We were there for 4 nights. There were bugs in the room. We requested towels to be sent to our room on the 2nd or 3rd day. They were not. So, we had to go to the front desk to get them. After a couple days, we asked to have housekeeping clean our room, and they said they would try but that the staff was really busy due to students coming back to school at IU or more rooms to clean. That sounds like a staffing issue not a customer issue. Ultimately, they did not clean our room any of the days. Tried to use the vending machine and it didn't work either. The breakfast was very basic and they have a bar/restaurant right next to where they serve it. So, could have been so much better. The motel has definitely seen better days. Outside hasn't been updated in years and there was an ant pile in front of one of the rooms. The only thing I can really compliment is that the A/C was really good in the room and the staff at the front desk was nice, at least when we checked in. Definitely a 2 star motel at best.

Disgusting! Dirty room. Key card didn’t work so room would not open or lock properly. Not worth the money! Felt like the Bates Motel!

The rooms were fair. The bed was clean. However the shower was so old that I felt uncomfortable showering in it. The furniture was pretty run down too. The outside was absolutely appalling. It was so run down that it made me think if the outside is so poorly maintaned, the inside inside couldn't be very clean although it looked clean at a superficial level. They had a free breakfast which was fine. There was nothing warm but i'm fine with just a yogurt and coffee. I really don't understand all the positive reviews. I gave this 2 stars because the staff was amazing. They were so friendly and made you feel at home. Also, we arrived after the lobby closed for the evening, and the process to get into our room after hours was pretty easy.

Superb

Very nice and clean room. Breakfast bar reportedly open from 7 am to 10 am but the building remained locked up past 7:15 am. Called the manager who said he would show up in 10 minutes but would need more time for set up. For a business traveler like me that was untenable. Even though they knew who I was no return call or offer to compensate this very disappointing situation.

The first room they gave me had black mold on the walls and the mattress. When I told the front desk staff, they said “it’s humid around here, so we get mold.” They gave me another room that had mold AND a spider infestation. They refused to offer a refund, but I left there and had to drive 30 minutes to find another hotel with availability (everything was booked for IU move in week). $400 spent and I couldn’t even stay.

Property was clean. It’s old but kept up well. Had a small leak and maintenance came within minutes and was very professional and took care of it instantly.

Issue with wifi, otherwise everthing was excellent.

We loved the vintage vibe and the bed was very comfortable !
