The hotel was fine. Saturday night in the vacant mall parking lot across the street from around 3:00 am to 4:00 am there was some kind of street party/drag racing/ tire burnout gathering that was so loud & you could smell the tires burning through the ac. I asked the front desk guy if that was a common occurrence & he said it was. Very strange.

I have stayed at Tru by Hilton in other locations and so I had a certain expectation when I got to the property. It was a quick one night stay to go to a concert. Let me say, Chris at the front desk was terrific and appeared to be doing all she could to get us checked in. There was a party of about 15 people ahead of us who were unable to check in because their rooms weren't cleaned. So Chris was even helping try to clean rooms to get people checked in. Check in at the Tru was at 3PM and we arrived at 4:30 and had to wait an hour to get checked in. While I was waiting, I had to use the lounge bathrooms - no toilet paper, no soap, no way to dry my hands. Then once we got into the room only two plugs worked - one in the bathroom and one by the bed. All of the other plugs, including the second one in the bathroom were blocked - you couldn't put the plug in. There was hair in the bathtub. AND there was NO SHADE on the window. Instead they had kind of pinned up a bedsheet to cover the window for privacy but only attached in three points so it left gaping holes. In addition all of the public garbage cans - by the elevator, in the lobby were overflowing even in the morning when we left. Chris was great. The hotel was not. This is frustrating as I booked last minute - so the hotel could have just said they were full, and not rented me a room.

I like how the property is a new build. The Lobby was full of activity to keep guest occupied. The room was a decent size for a family of 4. I noticed the drug addicted in the area was just walking into the building early morning using the bathroom on the lower floor. Which was completely weird. As if they were staying in the building. A few for the drug addicted was even at the breakfast area helping them to breakfast, the front desk clerk didn’t even noticed till last minute. Another problem was the variety of breakfast it was the same the breakfast every morning. The breakfast was not very tasty. The pancake machine was on the table, and nobody in the building knew how to work it. The pool on the main floor could use more cleaning. The water was cloudy. The laundry room dryer was $1.50 to use. I put the quarters in, the machine ate my quarters about a dollar extra before it even started.

Big lobby and good beds. Very small area for breakfast. Not sitting just place to grab food. Pancake machine broke for a whole day. People at the front desk weren't friendly. They treated me like a coworker not a guest.

No room available when we arrived to check in at 3:15pm. Had to wait about 1/2 hour for a room to be cleaned, which took so long I was late leaving for an important call time for a show I was performing in. When got to room neither key card worked. No cups in room for bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner and soaps were in the wrong places (hand soap in shower, conditioner near sink).
