This is a very old property and though it's well-maintained, it feels like nothing (furniture etc.) has been replaced in years. The bathroom was cleaned after check-out, but I don't think they consistently check it. More of a higher quality hostel than a hotel, which wasn't what I was expected. The walls are quite thin which was fine in the evening because the hotel was quiet but early risers next door talking at only a slightly higher level than normal woke me up with my earplugs in. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind, even though initially I'd been charged the wrong price and it ended up being more (maybe because of the world cup). In general, the room was clean and comfortable and had the necessities. The coffee, tea, and cookies was a nice touch. There was a fridge to store food and the breakfast had a lot of options. They had space to hang out and somewhere to keep luggage after check-out when I came back in the afternoon to wait for my flight. Stay was good.

Very good location about 15 minutes from Fenway Park. Harvard is right there. The room was small but clean. Overall a nice spot.

Just a heads up: Rooms and bathrooms are smaller compared to regular chain hotels. If you don’t mind that this is an excellent place to stay.

Good value in a nice location. Some of the staff were really friendly and helpful. For the price, it’s hard to beat. Nice breakfast. Other guests were a little noisy.

different kind of accommodations, but a beautiful house in a very good location, a lot more affordable; you will enjoy it!

We stayed for one night whilst attending the Scotland-Haiti game at Foxboro. Contacted the team to check if early check-in was available, quick response confirming it was and our room was already ready for us. Lovely greeting when we got to the property. Room was perfect - as described and more. Breakfast was very good. Nothing - everything was great. Whilst not cheap, it was a weekend and with the World Cup being on it was the cheapest we could find within a reasonable distance to South Station, so no complaints.

This is a comfortable, value oriented stay for someone that does not want to pay much much more for an overnight stay. I was comfortable and the breakfast was good. I will definitely come here again. Staff were very friendly.

Parking was my first concern. There is no street parking directly outside, but the inn has a limited number of spaces next to the building. Thankfully, I found one, although squeezing my SUV into the spot took some effort. Before entering, I was greeted by two surprisingly large rats near the ivy-covered exterior. It was both cute and alarming—like something straight out of Cinderella. Inside, I received an actual room key and was welcomed with fresh chocolate chip cookies, which were delicious. The inn is historic, so there is no elevator. My room was on the fourth floor, making the trek upstairs with luggage quite the workout. The room was cozy and full of character, with antique furniture, a skylight, and a comfortable bed. It had a charming "grandma's house" feel. While the TV was small and the view was mostly a brick building, the room had everything I needed and I slept surprisingly well both nights. The highlight was the complimentary breakfast. The oatmeal, yogurt, toast, hard-boiled eggs, tea, and bananas were excellent. I also enjoyed the evening hot cocoa. My only complaint was the silence in the breakfast room—I could hear every conversation and every crunc

This was unexpected given I thought the Irving House prided itself on being environmentally sustainable.

It was quaint and comfortably within expectations for a bed and breakfast in a former residential structure. The complimentary breakfast was a pleasant, surprising blend of availability and regional approach to those offerings. We'd stay there again.

It’s a great spot if you want to be close to Harvard square and are looking for reasonably priced, friendly accommodation. I had stayed before on the first floor- this time I was on the third. I hadn’t had top of mind that I would be lugging my bag up the stairs!

Very good location, close to Harvard, but with near connections to main local transit routes. Staff was extremely helpful and supportive and rooms were very clean.

    Super warm.

The place was comfortable and homey and the staff was friendly and very relaxed. You could come and go with ease. It felt like being in someone's home rather than an AirBnB or inn. I had a shared bathroom and that was really not an issue. It was pretty much always vacant when I needed it, and it was kept clean. Staff made up my room every day even though I didn't request it, which was nice. I left my bags in the designated area after I checked out and picked them up later. I didn't need to check in with anyone and no one asked any questions which I believe is because they've never had an incident. All around very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was pretty good, but could have been a little better. Maybe some scrambled eggs or French toast. And perhaps some muffins or croissants would have been nice. But it was fine and I was satisfied.

The staff couldn’t have been any nicer.

I have stayed here several times. The room was comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The staff were helpful when we had a non-standard request (needed to print a document). Fairly good location, although a bit of a walk to shops and restaurants.
