We initially had issues with the AC not working in our room, but staff was quick to assist and had a different room available for us to move to on the same floor in minutes. Breakfast options were great!!

Stayed two nights to visit the caverns. Pool was very enjoyable, gas grill was available for us to cook out on and a large enclosed patio with plenty of seating and tables. Unfortunately, the second night they had a water issue and we didn't have full water pressure. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible. Even with the water issue this was one of the best stays we have had in a long time.

Breakfast has several hot selections and some grab and go options if you dont have time for a sit down. Highly recommend if you have to stay in Carlsbad.

Check in was at 3. When we arrived we were told that our room was not clean and asked to wait 15 more minutes which seemed reasonable. An hour later the room still wasn’t ready. When they finally decided it was clean the “head housekeeper” checked it. She was apparently blind. Upon entering the room the carpet was wet and an unknown liquid was leaking from the fridge. We should’ve left then but 20 hours of driving had us exhausted and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Somehow we ended up in an “accessible” room meaning our shower was wheelchair accessible. However it had two shower heads and if you tried to use the main one it plugged the drain which meant the entire bathroom flooded. The other shower head had a leaky hose that seemed to be on the verge of exploding at any minute. There was also a family of spiders/spider webs in the shower which is odd for a bathroom that was just cleaned. The shower curtain was only held on with a hope and a prayer and fell down whacking my husband on the head. We cleaned this mess with towels. The next day housekeeping never came. Our room remained dirty, our trash was never dumped and I had to go to the desk for towels since our ones from the day before were used to clean the flood. This isn’t including how rude staff spoke to other guests and on the phone. I paid over $400 for 2 nights of filth. Never again.

The air conditioners could work better.

The room was good and had the basic needs for a comfortable stay. The only complaint I wod have is that we seen on the online pics there was a hot tube and there wasn't. And the breakfast they ran out of sausages and didnt restock. The bacon was under cooked. The rest was good not a normal buffet style. .

During breakfast, my 9-year-old daughter accidentally picked up the tongs instead of the spatula to serve herself some scrambled eggs. Instead of calmly explaining the mistake, an employee abruptly snatched the utensil out of her hand and threw it into the trash without saying a word. He then handed her a new spatula, but never explained what she had done wrong or spoke to her respectfully. At the time, she didn't fully understand what had happened. Once we returned to our room, she realized how she had been treated and started crying. She was so upset that she refused to go back to the breakfast area to get any more food. We spoke with the manager about the incident and ultimately decided to check out early because the experience had completely changed the tone of our vacation. I did receive a follow-up call from the general manager, and while I appreciated the outreach, I'm still not sure whether any action was taken to address the employee's behavior. Accidents happen, especially with children. A simple, polite explanation would have been all that was needed. Instead, the way the situation was handled left my daughter embarrassed and upset, and it turned what should have been an enjoyable family trip into a very negative experience.
