Super 8 by Wyndham Carlsbad

The property itself could use some work —painting at the least. One of the two rooms rented didn’t even have a single lock on the door. The other room could have used a little more attention while cleaning —someone’s hair was all over the floor. The pool was closed and looked like it had been for a long time; this may have been shared in the listing but I don’t think it was. The front door to the hotel must have been leaking because there was a gross white towel on the floor when we walked in and it was still there the next morning when we left.

Good place for short stays

The walls are thin and there was a lot of noise throughout the night. Could not tell if it was coming from front office or other guests.

It was a good stay, no breakfast served, no staff at desk in the morning, room was clean and fairly quiet. Would stay again as IHOP is just down the street.

The staff tried to be helpful, but the amenities were way off. The pool was closed, there was no breakfast, the tv in the room could not be changed to receive any channels. The person at the desk did not know how to get the TV programmed to any active inputs. They did offer to move us to another room, but we had already unpacked and settled in the room, so we went without TV. The WIFI worked, so we streamed Hulu on our tablet. The carpet in the hall has seen better days. The room was clean, but for the price, we expected the amenities to be fully available. We will stay elsewhere next time in Carlsbad.

People working very nice and friendly. The overall needs cleaning up around the inside and out . The room was very hot when entering and had bugs flying around . The washer and dryer needed to be upgraded took several hrs to do 2 pairs of jeans and 6 shirts.

The front desk clerk was nice and helpful. Room was clean No breakfast was served, Swimming pool was closed and remote did not work. There was no closet or drawers to hang or put your clothes away and the only place to put your suitcase was the floor. Not even a stool/stand to put your suitcase on

While the hotel & room were fairly clean, there were some issues that showed not all areas of the hotel were cleaned regularly. My biggest disappointment was that the breakfast area was closed for repairs and that the pool was also closed. The pool looked like it has been closed for quite some time. I would not have booked this hotel knowing this.

Area. Location I have submitted a complaint report of five inconveniences and issues that justify why the rate and accommodations are not satisfactory . . . will not recommend to friends and families since the management said that this is for seasonal workers in the mining and construction industry.

There was trash in both the trash cans. Still. Empty water bottles in the bathroom and on the TV stand. Hair in the sink in the bathroom. No washcloths or hand towels in the bathroom or bath mat to step out of. Shower was slippery.

Generally, we enjoyed staying at Super 8 Wyndham. The room was clean, the fridge worked well, the airconditioner did not want to start at first, but the cleaning lady helped us. The mictowave was kind of busted but still did its job. The drain in the bathroom was clogged and we left a maintenance request immediately. Still, the never fixed it during our three-day stay. Also, I wish the building locked, too, for better safety. So, pretty livable.

I purchased our reservation online, because of your low price and breakfast. My 2 grandsons and I show up and we see a well worn sign taped to the front desk indicating no breakfast is served due to renovations, yet online your company advertises free breakfast. I made my reservation based on your low price AND breakfast….I was cheated and from the age of the counter sign, they’ve been cheating customers for some time. I will stay away from Motel 8. I did not expect to be cheated

Everything was broken or closed... pool closed, no water. No free breakfast, dining hall being remodled. Broken dispenser for the soap by washing machine. Handmade Signs on Everything. Manager started knocking at my door at 8 am. When i got up at 10 they wanted to know if we had a dog.. . Came into the room to verify, very unprofessional. We will NEVER stay here again and recomend anywhere else in town. The Roadway in across the street is newly remolded. Oh and there was ths $100 deposit for the worst room ive ever stayed in... if things are closed you need to advertise this before booking. I feel hustled.

Super easy check in, Patrica was extremely nice and helpful. Definitely sweet soul. If you choose to stay there sprinkle her with kindness. The rooms were clean. Due to remodel they didn’t have breakfast but still worth the stay. Would come back for the price as well as how sweet the ladies were at the front.

Looked very run down. Pictures on the online site do not match what I saw in person. Even my grandson said it looked abandoned

The hotel was under renovation and the room we got was hot all night. It was bad. Service was great but that was it.

They advertised they have free breakfast but none coz of renovations. Disappointed upon arriving and on having advertised as free breakfast.
