Stilwell Hotel

Our room and the entire property at the Stillwell Hotel was extremely comfortable and incredibly clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Entire stay was “exceptional”. Only minor issue noted is poor water pressure in the bathroom sink, but shower was okay. Excellent stay with very nice breakfast and east parking at the hotel. Easy short walk to Ocean Avenue for shops and restaurants.

The hotel is absolutely lovely! Such a peaceful vibe, gorgeous property, lots of exterior seating areas. Our room was very pretty, lovely decor, comforts us bed & pillows! Parking is tight

Great location and amenities

The property seems to be recently upgraded. The property feels like it was originally built as a cheap motel but the new owner modernized it, added nice upgrades and modern finishings. My stay here was smooth and comfortable. Staff and service was also attentive and helpful.

Exceptional

We enjoyed our stay. My two comments are that here is not enough parking and there was also a very faint odor in the bathroom, perhaps from a drain. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the property was clean and the breakfast was good.

Extremely clean rooms! Location was amazing because we were so close to town. We didn’t need to drive anywhere! Breakfast is top notch and something we looked forward to each morning. We took my pup and even he loved it!

Wonderful and modern hotel

Beautiful property. Intimate seating & lite-dining area. Rooms are beautifully upgraded. Perfect location in Carmel.

Nothing. Converted motel, stark, rooms were very small. We had booked 3 days, but ended up staying just one night. The noise was awful. Booked a bunch of yelling children running up and down stairs. All night there was noise. I travelaround the world, have stayed in many top cities, and this experience has to be one of the worst ones. Staff was not even answering the phone, another company did, because no one was in the office. The price was over the top, and I’ve stayed in Carmel many times. Regrouped, and left to our old digs, much happier. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely, modern, comfortable in the heart of Carmel. Delicious European-style breakfast. Dog friendly! Fabulous! It's pricey, but on par for the area.

The rooms were small

Modern with awesome electric shades - blockout and sheer. Nice patio with gas fire pits and blankets. Delicious pizza. And offerings of salad etc Will be back!!! Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The staff was friendly, and everything exceeded our expectations. Everything was great. We had a very pleasant stay and have no complaints

We had a decent stay at the Stilwell, the location was great and we were looking forward to a nice relaxing stay. However, there was a guest that stayed directly next to us that got in a verbal altercation that turned violent with throwing of objects in the room on our first and second night from 1am-3:30am. We had broken sleep both nights and had our 18 month old child with us, whom this altercation affected. We requested to be moved, and we did move but we had to move all of our belongings and baby's crib to the room by ourselves. The hotel did comp one night for this experience, but even with that, my view of the hotel and our trip was tarnished. I am really disappointed and feel that the person that caused our distress should of been removed so we didn't have to move all of our stuff ourselves in the middle of our vacation.

Exceptional

One of those times I should have read reviews more carefully. The room we had was tiny, especially with the sofa couch open. Literally an inch or so of space e between the king bed and sofa couch. The room was well appointed and was clean. As was the bathroom. The bathtub plug was a little loose so it slowly drained and no one came up soon enough to fix. House cleaning also came in too early to clean, despite no one letting them in. Location is what you pay for, and friendly staff. Think upscale motel, not the Ritz or Westin.
