Front desk staff excellent and housekeeping staff did an excellent job.

The AC in my room was not working appropriately. The breakfast has very limited options.

They don’t make or take out garbage

The pool was closed with no explanation Some of the staff were rude They had stray cats running all over the place because the staff feeds them All in all this place doesn’t deserve a rating higher than a 4

The fact that I have a receipt that they took my money and they're saying they didn't really makes me mad and I'll never see that money again

The ac didnt work in our first room and second room the ac barely worked, there was paint missing on the walls and snot on the walls. Sheets were stained

Staff informed at check in that the pool was closed due to Emergency phone at the pool was not functioning. DHEC & Fire Dept. Would fine heavily anyone caught inside pool area. However no word on when the Emergency phone would be repaired.

After check-in I asked for a ground floor room as my wife has back problems and I was told there weren't any rooms available. The place was obviously not anywhere near fully booked. It looked like everyone was put on the second floor and there are no elevators. Other than that, the room was clean and appeared to be recently updated.

bed and pillows saved the day - comfy and without that we would have probably left and gone somewhere else. arrived Monday 20th Told room ready but because it wasn’t 3 pm we had to pay a 40 dollar early arrival ( why when room was ready) Totally disappointed notices everywhere swimming pool not working When we asked we were told some vague story about waiting for a part - not believable because after reading some reviews clearly swimming pool not available for months even notices stuck up had clearly been there for some while. So we should have been told before we arrived or even before we booked because I doubt it was working then Also same day 20th x coffee machine not working went to reception after some discussion the receptionist took me to room 103 and I was given that coffee machine - it was filthy dirty and advised to clean it before use which I did but that night I had violent diarrhoea - ??? So you can come to you’re own conclusion Wednesday 22nd - no clean towels clear no one had cleaned room so had to go down again to reception to get clean towels so we could shower x receptionist all very pleasant but it was about 6 pm and we’d had a full day not what you need x Thursday 23rd 8am told reception toilet leaking - and we didn’t have room cleaned day before - reassured someone will be out and room will be cleaned and there will be clean towels. Came back after a full day - room definitely not cleaned dirty towels in pile in same place as I left them and a different towel round the base of the toilet so clearly someone had been in and just left towel to soak up leak Went straight down to reception x manager on desk who said she had not been in fir few days and gad cone back to a pike of complaints and issues x after explaining she said we would need to move if we wanted the toilet done x reluctantly I agreed and was given a keycard to room 216 apparently a suite x me and my husband went to the room but clearly it was being used x went back to reception told manager who was unaware it was occupied - got clean towels and went back to room totally frustrated

Check in was very simple and the staff member was absolutely fabulous Pool was closed

It was just ok at best Carpet stain, door lock jammed, ac loud, windows filthy

I travel to Charleston regularly, and this is where I always stay. I love the pool area and having breakfast in the beautifully landscaped courtyard. I have to assume that the hotel is under new management, because the hotel seems to have gone down hill the last couple years. The last time I stayed, a young girl used her key card and walked into mine and my daughter's room- we were accidentally double booked! We had just checked in, so luckily no one was showering or anything, but that was big safety concern. This trip, the pool was temporarily closed. Someone broke one of the lights inside the pool, and they had to close it until someone could fix it. That's understandable as we were told it was hanging and wires were exposed, but by the looks of the branches and debris around the pool, it didn't look like the hotel was in a hurry to get it up and running. There was no notice online at the time I booked the room, nor were we offered any type of refund/upgrade.
