TownePlace Suites by Marriott Charleston-West Ashley

Housekeeping left a decent bit of trash in the hallway near our room that started to smell pretty bad with the heat. Wish we could have opted into daily housekeeping service. We also had a broken piece in our shower and a broken microwave in our suite. Other than those minor glitches, it was a great stay!

Location was great. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. Pool was good. AC was cold. Room was outdated for a Mariott property. Water pressure was terrible the whole stay. It took me 5xs longer to shower just to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. Baseboards were peeling off the walls and the tub was slow draining. The elevator was sketchy and made a super scary jerking movement. Overall, a decent place to stay but I think I’ll stay at another mariott next time.

Drinking water should be provided for the travelers.

Location was great and the hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. We only had waffles on weekend mornings, lol, but breakfast choices each day were top notch.

The breakfast in the morning was wonderful. The hotel staff especially the young lady with the short red or pink hair was amazing. She was very helpful, professional, and super sweet. I have nothing bad to say.

If you want to bring your own food, cook and eat in, it's wonderful. The facility has everything. There is definitely a lack of service for dining which is difficult for some who are unable to go out for dinner. On the other hand, they do serve a good breakfast.

Breakfast was great. Pool was great. Location was good and away from busy Charleston which is what we went for.

Area was not safe and secure. Hallway had cleaning carts , we checked in at 3:00 . We couldn’t use pool because they had to clean it. Pool towels had bugs inside the folds. Beds were hard, like laying on a brick floor. Pillows were basically just pillow cases; extremely thin. Breakfast was okay; wished there would of been creamer for coffee.Not enough parking spaces.

Clean Room

The breakfast was ok. It had plenty of choices but lacked fresh fruit. Yes, it had bananas and red apples but melon or berries would be an awesome choice. Also, the coffee had only the choice of bold or decaf. I drink medium blend which I think could be a very good addition for all guests. The best part of the stay was it was probably one of the quietest hotels I have stayed. That is really saying something because we were there over the weekend. Overall not the worst stay maybe just a few easy changes/additions for the guests.

2. There was used dirty mens underwear at the side exit door and even after reporting it upon arrival it remained there overnight and past 11am when we checked out. 3. The sofa surface appeared to be dirty as well.

The breakfast was great, front desk staff was wonderful, beds were comfortable. If the hotel was better maintained this would have been better.

The toilet in our room ran continuously and had to be manually adjusted by removing the tank lid and pushing the flapper down each time. The complimentary continental breakfast was very basic and offered the standard items typically found at budget hotels. On a positive note, the room was clean when we arrived and met our expectations in terms of cleanliness.

Front desk staff was friendly. Elevator was very creaky. Cleanliness of the room was poor. 2 lights in our room did not work. Some kind of liquid spill that had dried in the closet. Stain on mattress. Will not stay here again

Love the location it was close to all the places we wanted to visit. The price was great, the rooms were spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone
