Wonderful place. Convenient to everything we wanted to do. Staff was excellent.

Since the last time we were there, they now charge

The staff were all super friendly and helpful. From the breakfast staff, to the bartender and all desk staff. The place is clean, we'll taken care off and nicely decorated. The store across the street is a plus for getting snacks, coffee, or other drinks. The breakfast is good enough, saves time from going out to eat that meal. Only one complaint. Our room was on ground level on Bay Street. Cars and bikes and people very loud . Friday night was the worst. Saturday a little better, and much less noise on Sunday.

Checked into our room and noticed that the bed was "well slept in". It needed to be replaced...So the guy at the front desk moved us to another room. Which was not too far away. Smaller but still a nice size. The TV in the bedroom was not operational. This room had a very awkward bathroom layout...you had to manuever around the toilet to get into the shower! Very poor design!

Great location

The bartender was so personable and friendly. All the staff was warm and welcoming. The room was beautifully decorated with high wooden ceilings and very comfortable bed. The roof top terrace area was an excellent location to relax. Great location and able to walk everywhere.

Towels were thick and clean. Initial eception was a lot of fun and provided great dining options. This place is lovely with tons of character and situated well within walking distance to everything but far enough to be quiet at night. Speaking of quiet we had a ground floor room under the staircase. Not ideal. The bar and Reception areas were noisy late some nights. The rooftop is really great but under utilized. The hotel does show some wear and for the price of the room I was expecting more amenities somehow. Parking charges were excessive on top of the room rate IMO. Room was cleaned every day. But no additional bottled water or sweets were left on the pillows. Breakfast was very limited. Typically hot oatmeal with limited toppings. 2 hot breakfast offerings such as eggs and bacon. Fruit. Yogurt. Bread & bagels with limited toppings.

Amazing hotel convenient to everything! So charming!

We had a board from the ceiling hanging above our head when we awoke the next morning. I let the staff know and they moved us to another room. When management arrived Monday, they took one night's stay off our bill.

Easy walk to all the East Bay restaurants and local tours. Staff was great and nice small bar and breakfast

Aplus breakfast with APlus grits. Easily walkable location to major sites. We had a noisy street side room 113.

The location was perfect. We were within easy walking distance of Charleston City Market, restaurants, shopping, and many of the sights we wanted to see. It made exploring Charleston incredibly convenient without having to constantly get in the car. After spending each day sightseeing and enjoying the city, it was so nice to return to such a clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable suite. It really felt like a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at the Ansonborough again. If you're visiting Charleston and appreciate plenty of space, a great location, and a quiet place to unwind after exploring the city, I highly recommend it! PS breakfast was delish!

The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed didn’t have a sheet, just a comforter. After calling the front desk a sheet was sent up quickly.

Exceptional place to stay. We found our room (King Studio) spacious and extremely comfortable and quiet. Within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The staff, The “A Team” were courteous, friendly, and accommodating! Can’t say enough good things. Celebrated our 40th anniversary and they had a sweet note and Prosecco chilling for us. Can’t wait to visit again!

It’s a nicely located hotel and has a nice breakfast. The breakfast is nothing over the top but is a great option to start the day and save a few bucks on your stay. Grocery store directly adjacent is very handy if you desire to grab a few things. Would certainly stay again. Beds were 3/5 for comfort.

Clean modern hotel with a nice touch of historic charm. Rooms were very clean. Staff was exceptional and even gave us special gifts for our birthdays! It was centrally located, and across the street from a grocery store which was also helpful. I would absolutely stay there again!

I booked an ADA suite and it was HUGE. It was perfect for my post-op sister. It was decorated nicely, The hotel is right across from a grocery store, which was great so I could keep the mini fridge stocked. It was also across from 167 Raw, which is a fantastic seafood spot in Charleston. The area was quiet, the staff were friendly, and the hotel was cute and a vibe. The breakfast was standard hotel fare, I wish they had more seating. The rooftop was adorable. I liked that it was a bit off of the standard downtown Charleston beaten path. I would definitely stay here again.
