The Francis Marion Hotel

This hotel is a gorgeous historical hotel. Feels like luxury when you enter the lobby. The staff at the front desk and check in was so smooth and fast we were up to our beautiful room in about 10 min. Valet is the only type of parking but it was nice to not have to worry about our car. We had a 2 double bed room and it was beatufiul and spacious for four women to share. The bathroom is tiny but was fine. Nice to have a Starbucks right in the entry or the option of eating in the hotel restaurant.

The Francis Marion is a historic hotel and scores top for location. The staff were helpful at check in, however, it was like any hotel thereafter. The rooms are old and the bathrooms are outdated. The flush in the toilet has had to be used at 3-4 each time. The counter space was very small. Lots of good coffee places and restaurants in walking distance. Overall good experience, nothing outstanding.

Great location but too expensive for the rooms and amenities

Charleston weather was hot, humid and miserable. My fault for not booking a place with a pool.

This is our second time staying at the Francis Marion and both times have been excellent. Room and hotel lobby are always clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We have enjoyed happy hour at the restaurant bar and there is always a great atmosphere. The location and history of the hotel are wonderful and everything is within walking distance. The concierge desk was wonderful in assisting us with finding things to do to try and beat the heat during a heat wave and made this trip better than the last. I highly recommend this hotel for a weekend away in Charleston.

Amazing in room service breakfast! The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was also very helpful. This is our second time there and we will return again.

The rooms are older so there were signs of age and wear. The bathroom was very small. The staff, service and location were excellent.

We had a wonderful stay! The Francis Marion was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Our room was spacious, quiet, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was perfect, with easy access to restaurants and local attractions. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and the excellent customer service, which made us feel valued throughout our stay. The cookies a check-in was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
