The Palmetto Hotel

The front desk assistance was helpful and friendly. Our key to the room never worked, we had to go back to the front desk each time in order to activate the key. Breakfast very disappointing. Not enough sitting area Lobby serves as dining and gathering. Will try another hotel next time.

The Palmetto was a nice boutique hotel located perfectly in the downtown area. The rooms were very nice and the shower was amazing. The morning breakfast was good with a variety of pastries, grits and biscuits and gravy. The all day sweet tea and water was nice after a lot of walking and touring. The service was good and the staff were friendly. The overall experience was nice; we will definitely return for our next stay. Thank You Team Palmetto.

The hotel is aesthetically beautiful and in a great location of the French Quarter. Everything is walkable. The lobby is pretty and smells of lemongrass (almost like a spa). The rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are modern and updated. The staff were okay, not entirely helpful or friendly (not nasty). The breakfast was tasty but limited. Very carb friendly (every morning was biscuits with gravy, grits, muffins, pastries, etc) so they could use some variety. Unfortunately we didn’t get room service 2 out of 4 days there which was a disappointment. Cost to park at $55 was steep so chose to find alternate parking. Overall it was an okay experience but was expecting more for the price.

It was such a quaint place. We loved that it wasn’t loud or overly busy. Rooms were very clean. And hotel staff were very friendly.

Very good location, classic southern hotel feel. Staff was pleasant..rooms were well appointed. Enjoyed our short, 3 night stay.

The property was absolutely beautiful. From the lobby to the rooms to the small entry way everything was stylish and well maintained. Great location to excellent nearby food and the market.

on our first night and a carafe of water the second. Room was elegant and clean. Breakfast of cheese grits, croissants, pastries, & yogurt was perfect. We'd be happy to stay at the Palmetto again!

Perfect boutique hotel for our couples trip

What a wonderful stay in downtown Charleston. I chose this property mainly because of the location, but as soon as I came in a was even more impressed by the style, aesthetic and amenities.

Great little boutique property with perfect location. Decor is beautiful, bar was great (try the espresso martini!), staff was very friendly and helpful, and the included continental breakfast was icing on the cake. Would recommend and would stay again. Best suited for couples of any age. Not really suited for families of young children.

The Palmetto Hotel is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The lobby is pretty with a nice windowed lounge area and bar. We enjoyed a complimentary cocktail before dinner and the breakfast was delicious. It included hot and cold items. The room was pretty and quiet with lovely amenities in the bathroom. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the hotel. The room size was small, but still nice. We utilized the public covered parking lot (~500 feet behind the hotel) which was self parking and ~half the price compared to the hotel valet lot.

The Palmetto was absolutely perfect. First impression walking in is a gorgeous, inviting sitting room and a beautiful bar around the corner at the entrance, and then very lovely staff welcoming at check in. The room and (large) bathroom were clean and also beautiful. I love that a steamer was in the closet, which came in handy. Nice mini bar, though we didn’t use it. Very comfortable bed and lovely linen. Excellent pastries at breakfast as well as fruit, grits, hard boiled eggs, and excellent coffee. The hotel’s location was absolutely perfect to see the historic city and the coastline and to wonderful restaurants. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Family met us from Florida for the weekend and stayed there also for the 3 day weekend and loved the hotel as much as we did, and it was a feather in my cap that I found it!

They put us beside the staff break room and had to listen to their appliances run all night. A high pitch buzz that you could hear over a white noise machine. Doors not sealed so bright light from the hall was directly on the bed in your face. Small roach in the bathroom. Door to valet was broken so I had to roll all of my luggage on the cobblestone outside to go around to the back. Not a horrible experience, just not up to par with the price you’re paying.
