The Loutrel

The Loutrel had attentive staff, beautiful lobby and an overall great experience. The mezzanine room was a great lounge for our group to get together stocked with snacks and large tv. We rented the included bikes and biked all over Charleston. We ordered a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine which was delivered to the well appointed rooftop. Highly recommend the hotel and will be back!

This Hotel is grossly overpriced for what you get…which made our stay miserable. It is not allowed to disclose how much because it is shocking. Everything is on the cheap. Nothing demonstrating that this was an high quality hotel..the spaces are small. The lobby’s hight ceilings give you the illusion that it is grand..it is not. There is a bar, lobby desk, no dining and the “breakfast” is not a breakfast..stale processed food and powdered eggs and dried up potato’s. No decent coffee.. or no help from the staff to help get you a decent coffee. Everything is made to look pretty but at closer look it is cheap fluff. The so called amenities are terrible.. pod dispenser cheap coffee with no labels for decaf. Terrible snacks which we could not eat…complementary for our paying the high price. The rooms are small with shower no bath. The bed was comfortable. Again the cost for one night was wildly exorbitant you are way better off a Holiday Inn or similar. The BEST part of our stay was the wonderful Valet and Bellman who was exceptional., funny, very helpful and kind. The rest of the staff smiled a lot but said and did nothing meaningful or helpful. Pure profit driven operation and to hell with quality and service.

The rooms were beautiful, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and it was the perfect place to return to and relax after a full day of exploring Charleston. We especially loved the complimentary happy hour and snacks — such a thoughtful touch and a great way to unwind in the evenings. The Loutrel made our Charleston trip even more enjoyable, and we would absolutely stay here again!

This hotel is immaculate! Very very clean, attention to details, superb. Staff is amazing and super nice, thank you Brendan. The morning staff at breakfast, specifically Mrs. Brenda and her co-worker, so welcoming, nice, and friendly; made us really feel like family. Truly enjoyed getting to know them over breakfast. Cannot wait to come back!

We loved everything about this hotel. It was within walking distance of most shopping or places of interest. It was very convenient to come and go from there if we needed to take an Uber as well. The staff was most accommodating in every way. This hotel‘s first class from the room to the breakfast area and bar. We enjoyed the plush bedding and in-room amenities. It was five star in every way.

I would highly recommend a stay here and will return again. A huge Thank You to the entire staff!

This was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was excellent. The staff are so attentive and friendly. We will be back every year!

Our stay was lovely! The room was beautiful and spacious. They offered a nice breakfast adjacent to their lovely lobby. The hotel is within walking distance of some very good restaurants. I would stay here again.

Awesome boutique hotel with great service, food and drinks.

The staff was a class act. From Anicia (sp?) at the desk to Leah at the bar and the lovely women that made us a breakfast box when we have to depart at 5 am. Loved loved loved. We come to Charleston every summer from California and we’ll see you all again soon!

The Hotel was clean modern and had a sophisticated atmosphere. There is a beautiful light fragrance throughout the facility. Staff from the Front Desk, concierge, and wait staff were all very pleasant. The breakfast provided was top notch and added greatly to the stay. Happy hour with light fare was also very relaxing. The mixologists had terrific skills and made delicious cocktails. All this with its central location makes it an easy choice to pick when visiting the Charleston area.

The Loutrel is by far the nicest hotel in Charleston. Whenever I'm visiting the area, I always make a point of staying there. It's 5-stars, for sure!

- Great location, walkable to so many things - Wonderful service, helpful and attentive staff - Clean and modern yet still had that Charleston charm - Really appreciated the welcome cocktail and daily happy hour with free drinks and snacks! - Also appreciated the free snacks and drinks in the room - Loved the "DIY" beverage bar that was out at all times with fresh flavored water and accompaniments (and much needed in the August Charleston heat!!) - Delicious included breakfast with a lot of options Truly felt like a luxurious, relaxing get away. Definitely don't think twice about staying at The Loutrel if all of the above sounds great.

Our room was so spacious and beautifully decorated. The bed and linens crisp and comfortable. Room also well appointed with snacks and beverages. Daily breakfast is another lovely treat- great way to start the day. Location of the property is also perfect! Walkable to the water, sites, restaurants and shopping! Will definitely stay again in the future!
