Church Street Inn Historic Charleston, Ascend Collection Hotel

The staff was my favorite part of my stay. They were friendly, personable and funny. I guess I didn’t really look at the listing since it was a last-minute trip and I was surprised when I had to go up more stairs to go to the bed. The location was perfect, right near the market, walking distance to the meeting points of the activities I booked. Great restaurants nearby target is fairly close as well so if you wanted to use the kitchen in the room instead of eating out, you can do that as well. I would definitely stay here again. I have no complaints.

Having dietary restrictions, having a FULL kitchen was invaluable to my stay! We loved our stay and really hope to be back soon!

Excellent location with beautiful rooms!

We didn’t realize the room was a duplex, and it ended up making our stay even more comfortable with the living area on the first level and the beds upstairs. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially when we needed to adjust our plans due to weather‑related travel issues. The location was perfect—just steps from City Market and close to all the major downtown attractions. We truly enjoyed both the stay and the area. N/A

The hotel is perfectly situated for walking tours. The hotel is located next to the City Market and yet is amazingly quiet. The staff is pleasant and responsive to all request. Also the hotel is surrounded by all types of food options from high end restaurants to street vendors. We will definitely be returning.

A pleasant stay overall and a great location. Shower floor was uncomfortable and few outlets for electronic devices.

Make sure to book this place when you are in the area is convenient for everything!!!

The staff was BEYOND amazing! Everyone was so nice, helpful and accommodating. The room was really nice, the 2 floors was nice. Having the kitchen was a major plus to save money. We only ate out 1 time per day. The location is perfect for walking to be everywhere we wanted to be.

The staff was amazing! They were doing a little maintenance byt it was not bothersome.

Not very clean. Old and musty smell in rooms. Carpeting worn out, shower had mold and leaked

The Inn is beautiful and in the perfect location. The check in staff was very friendly but didn’t not provide accurate details concerning the parking garage. The night staff person seemed to have an issue with my son asking a question about it. It turned into an exchange of words and the staff person following him outside. My son is a 30 year old man, not a college kid. The morning manager didn’t seem interested in listening to my side of the story, only defending his employee. Feel slightly discriminated against as if confusion of age and social status played a part in this. This will probably be a reason not to return.
