Super nice suite, felt like royalty.

We had a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel itself was quiet, beautifully kept, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and the excellent customer service throughout our visit. Overall, this was a great experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay!

The hotel is a decent hotel but I guess we just hit the perfect storm. The room smelled stale, not bad but as if it doesn't get used very often. Theu had a cafe but the cafe was closed for technical difficulties so only served coffee and pastries. We were going to go out but was tired and decided to stay in, however the TV wasn't working. Spoke to the lady at the front desk who said she would send someone up. They never came. I had to talk to the front desk again the next day. Then to top it all off after a day of touring wineries, we go to sleep. That good been out all day tipsy sleep and the fire alarm goes off and we now have to evacuate the building for 30-45 minutes at 11pm at night. I cant blame the hotel for this but I didn't have the best experience.

The Doyle is a lovely, small, boutique hotel located very conveniently to the downtown mall and University of Virginia campus. Parking was convenient and we enjoyed our stay.

There was no breakfast cause they are in process of selling.

So it took us 1.5 hours to get everything worked out then the back up room they put us in had no bath products..... the manager could not be bothered and the new employee was left to deal with it herself. Beyond poor service. We were not the only ones who had difficulty getting into their pre-booked room. A family had to leave because they didn't assign them 2 night stay and every other hotel was booked solid. Extremely disgusting treatment of a young family with a baby As far our experience, we are still waiting for the refund from the so-called manager on the phone. He made promises he couldn't fulfill. I think this place is for sale and current owners don't care whatsoever about their customers. It's a shame since it's a beautiful hotel with a very young vibe Just not for us

The hotel was decorated well with thoughtful touches. The bed was comfortable. It was convenient to all dining downtown. The valet person was very nice and helpful, but reeked of cigarette smoke, which was my only complaint.

Because they do not “staff” the property well, we did not have a functioning TV the entire time. Valet available was good, but the process did not work. Wanted us to use the app to call for the vehicle, but every time we did that, the car was never retrieved. Someone had to be separately called. Beds were comfy, shower was moldy.

Hotel under some sort of cleaning. No cafe which meant no breakfast. Coffee good at cage but nothing else. Parking separate vendor and cost. Lots of space, nut nothing going on. Bar on 5th floor decent but not part of hotel. Room fine ... some interesting staff but all helpful.

Unkempt, bath fans dont work, mold on the ceilings near the ice makers, potentially in the duct system. Hard to breathe for my wife with asthma. Transferred rooms around midnight with wife and 2 kids, extreme disturbance lack of rest and refreshment. horrible experience at the hotel,

We loved the check in process, room, location, and roof top bar. Next time we're in the area we will definitely consider staying again.

The hotel was nice but there was not a front desk to welcome and help you. It is mostly done digitally. The valet would not valet our car but pointed to a lot two blocks away that we had to walk back from late at night with no lights on the street.

First, when we checked in, our room was extremely dirty and had an unpleasant smell. We figured this may have been because they let us check in early, and let it slide. We booked the annex suite with 2 floors, the upper floor thermostat read 82F+ when we checked in, so we were a bit stuck on the 1st floor. A maintenance technician entered our unit to program our door lock - he did not knock and we were not warned. The plumbing was not turned on for our unit until 10pm, and after that we spent time cleaning the shower as it was full of hair and dirt. Unfortunately, the poor cleaning is not unique as a one-time thing or to my unit, as I had all my friends & family stay at the Doyle hotel, of which they also reported dirt, hair, even dirty towels and trash left in their units. Those were the completely unacceptable items, remaining items that just did not help: The motorized shades in almost every room are broken. The bathtub in the annex suite is not secure and wobbles. There is NO microwave in ANY of the suites or common area. Parking is not included, and you must walk across train tracks/poor pavement conditions to get to it. We were given the master code because the programming to our door wasn't set up.
