Hyatt Place Chesapeake

When I arrived, I was told I needed to pay because the card on file had expired, which was not true. I had also provided my married last name in my reservation notes, yet I was allowed to check in under my maiden name without any issue. On Sunday, I accidentally locked my key in my room and went to the front desk with my ID to get a replacement key. The front desk employee told me that the name on my ID didn’t match and then insisted that a man had checked into the room. That was completely false. I had personally checked into the hotel two days earlier, and the same employee had checked me in. I asked him to please review the reservation notes to verify the information, but he refused and told me he couldn’t because he had never seen me before. Again, this made absolutely no sense considering he was the person who checked me in just two days prior. His attitude was extremely rude and dismissive, and I was treated as though I was doing something wrong when I was simply trying to access the room I had already paid for. The condition of the hotel was also disappointing. There were cardboard room numbers on the doors, overflowing trash sitting out for days, and an overall lack of cleanliness and upkeep. I have stayed at Hyatt properties before, and this experience did not come close to the level of service or quality I associate with Hyatt. I will never stay

Clean room, staff friendly and got us checked in early.

Very very clean. I paid for the room with the king size bed with the fold out bed. The bathroom was So small. We couldn't even close the bathroom door to go to the bathroom it was so tight. Also it took forever for the hot water to come on.

My reservation was canceled after calling and talking to someone who promised my reservation was good. Horrible customer service.

Near many different restaurants and shops. The quality of the rooms was below average given the nightly rate charged. Additionally, many reviews raved about the breakfast, but I found it to be average to below average for a hotel breakfast.

The short guy at the front desk. Gave me attitude while attempting to check in. Expected me to have already know the rules about what cards they do or do not accept. First, how about starting with a greeting and then ask me to kindly read the essay on your card policy instead of giving me attitude and looking at me like I'm a delinquent for presenting one of the cards you do not accept. The room wasn't ready either. It wasn't like I booked hours before arriving, I had MONTHS in advance. Had to wait for a room and the room was STILL dirty in the end. The sink was dirty, the shower, the bathroom, the room wasnt vacuumed. I didn't complain though because I was already in a bad mood. The beds were terrible. The pillows seemed cheap. There was nothing about this hotel that matched the price tag.

I love the breakfast, definitely an improvement from the meaning of breakfast included. I love that the location in not in main traffic but close enough to all shopping and dining. I have not improvements to suggest.

The room had bugs. The room number was literally a cardboard cutout with sharpie on it. The carpet was stained. Charge us $30 extra for a 4th floor room that had a view of dumpsters in the parking lot. Put $150 hold for incidentals that that hold for 5 days without any charges. No creamer for in room coffee. No microwave. A/C could not maintain temperature. Loud music after 9 pm. And a shower floor that my wife wanted pool shoes to stand on. Will not do another Hyatt. Overpriced and not a good hotel. On the positive side, nice towels.
