It does not look like a hotel with a rate of $200 before tax and fees. It is more or less like a motel. Unlike other hotels who hold your credit card for security deposit purpose and release it when you check out. This hotel actually charges a $250 deposit when you check-in, and the charge is not promptly refunded when you check out. I checked out a couple of days ago, but the charge is not refunded yet.

The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. Plenty of parking and close to restaurants and shopping areas. No concern with cleanliness. The only compliant was the internet: not reliable at all.

If what you’re looking for is an affordable hotel room convenient to downtown Chicago, The Lakeshore Hotel is worth considering. It’s not fancy but my room was clean and comfortable.
-
Room was clean, staff was very friendly, however there was no option for pool( looked damaged).
-
It was accessible to public transportation -- but not worth the price.

Room was just as picture showed. Bathroom was clean and I did not see any bugs. Blackout curtains were the best!

The housekeepers worked hard cleaning every crevice of the rooms, which I enjoy. Downfall was they would start early in the morning & when cleaning upstairs we can hear every footstep & movement of furniture, etc. Guests up there were very loud at night too. We couldnt use the pool nor the café, which is a huge reason why we booked this place. Not to mention, the ap says the beach is 1 min away. It's not true at all. You gotta walk, bike, or drive at least 10 mins. It is RIGHT THERE, but you cant just cross the highway. Free parking was a perk & staff was extremely helpful. It came with the good & the bad, but due to when we were there, prices on rooms went up so we couldnt leave. But we made it work.

The hotel is a little aged but the room was clean and the location was fine. The staff was nice.

The hotel was clean, baseboards were missing so it didn’t feel entirely finished but that was just cosmetic. The bathrooms were clean, the room smelled nice and was clean, beds were comfy and the tv had casting abilities (which kept the kids happy!). Staff helped us navigate transit, the bus was only about an 8 minute walk through a decent neighborhood.

The room was clean, but the area is not the best area to stay in. Especially on a weekend, There is Herold Washington Park just around the corner that becomes a scary place, paticularly on a Saturday night. Even though no one ever bothered us or came around the hotel that we seen. The hotel itself is a decent and clean place, the only complaint I have about the room itself was that the T.V does not have service. The 3 channels that came through every once in a while had alot of static and rarely even had a signal. It would be great if the owners could join the modern era of tv and download apps like HBOMAX or Disney+ so guests can log into their own accounts. One plus of the location is that it is a close uber ride to the Obama Presidential Center.

Nothing They charged my account twice and tried to charged 350.00 more! The door had a 2 inch gap and the front desk staff was trying to commit a fraud! Will never go back there again! If I could give this place negative 10 I would!

The bed was delivered the next day while we were gone, but we didn’t need it any longer. Our room wasn’t cleaned that day, which was an issue, but I didn’t say anything. We were too tired after our busy day to even care. The next morning was checkout. We slept until 10:45, and when I called to ask what time checkout was, was told it was 11a. The desk person was gracious enough to give us until 12 noon, since we had just gotten up. We turned in our parking papers, and room keys with 10 minutes to spare. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. I would stay again. OHHH-the hotel does put a $100 charge on your card for incidentals-and I used my debit card, which takes 7-14 days for the charge to fall off and be returned. That wasn’t told to me in advance, and limited my spending. I know now to ask when I book anywhere.

The room was spotless. The hotel's in a terrific location and offers free parking. Keep in mind the the property is undergoing renovation and the hallways and bathrooms haven't been updated yet but the bathroom was clean and functional. One oddity with the room is that the charging ports on the headboard were tied to the lights switch just inside the door for the floor lamp. If the switch was in the off position, the charging ports didn't work. I figured out the USB port on the desk lamp charged when the lamp was turned off.

If you’re looking for a place to lay your head, it’ll do. Don’t expect much beyond that.

Nice staff, but the pool was completely dilapidated. I understand if you don’t want to have a pool on your property, but if you have one and it’s torn up, cover it. The room smelled like cigarette smoke.
