The Study is tucked into a security-heavy university neighborhood with a lot of green space, which offered peace of mind when it came to safety. It has a "contemporary library" vibe that was beautifully designed. We only stayed for one night, so we didn't really explore the hotel amenities, but we did eat at the restaurant (Truth Be Told...), and the food was FANTASTIC! Staff were very friendly and efficient, making it easy to ask questions or seek help if needed. Our room was on an upper floor, and the views were beautiful. The in-room safe was convenient and easy to use. We were going to an event at the stadium, which turned out to be much closer than I anticipated, so this is a great lodging option if you're traveling to Chicago for a concert or sporting event at the stadium. The rate was nearly $380/night (including tax), which seemed high. But considering the location, quality, and day I booked, I suppose I understand the higher rate to an extent. When I booked, I don't recall it being clear that the "available secured parking" was a nearby pay parking garage and not an on-site hotel lot. I was initially irritated by this, but the garage ended up being just behind the hotel, and there was plenty of available space inside. There are just some nit-picky things regarding the room, and it's mainly the bathroom. There weren't any facial tissues, which I typically find available in most hotel bathrooms. The toilet paper was one ply, and for the rate, I was expecting a bit more comfort in that area! The shower was huge and easy to step into, but with the way the glass doors were designed, water inevitably got all over the floor, making it necessary to use one of the available towels as a floor mat of sorts. I didn't notice it until just before leaving, but there were spots on the wall next to the sink. Not sure what it was (something sprayed/splattered), but it was missed in the cleaning, I guess.

The location was excellent for our visit to the Obama Presidential Center. The neighborhood was welcoming. Being right on the university of Chicago campus gave us access to great restaurants and Hyde Park. Everywhere we ate and visited was amazing! There was nothing I did not like.

The Barack Obama presidential center was conveniently located within walking distance. Moreover, being situated on the campus of the University of Chicago provided a serene and peaceful atmosphere. This might seem like a small request, but for me, even though the establishment provided complimentary coffee in the morning, I believe it’s crucial to have coffee makers and cake cups in each room. This way, guests can enjoy their coffee without having to get up and go downstairs to the lobby. Furthermore, a microwave oven, either located centrally or in each room, would be greatly appreciated. This would allow guests to easily heat up any leftover meals. This would be even better if there were small refrigerators in the rooms. Lastly, the full beds lacked pillow tops, making the full beds slightly uncomfortable. However, the king-size bed had a pillow top, which made it very comfortable.

The 6am coffee bar was a big help! My 90 year old Mother takes a daily medicine dosage around 7 so to have that available prevented me from having to hunt her up some coffee and milk, it was greatly appreciated!!! :) One complaint was the television volume, it was too low, but I was informed about the plan for upgrading and correction, a small detail...no big deal.

Great location for leaving town in the morning to drive to Indiana. Clean hotel with friendly staff and the decor was cute, in line with the name. Would definitely stay again! We parked at garage right behind the hotel and it worked out great.
