Very old hotel smells like dirty carpet some homeless around hotel

Room was clean. Only thing I didn't like was not enough water pressure in the shower.

i like clean room and i think breakfast could be started at 6;oo am.

Breakfast area was too small for guests to fit, only 1 pancake maker was working that created a long line/wait. 1 guest was making pancakes for the entire family & looked like even relatives that didn’t care for others who were waiting…Need to call the attention of the staff :( juice dispenser was not working as well, no water was available & need to go out to the lobby to get a lemon-infused water.

The room keycards always failed, and I constantly had to ask the staff to reprogram the cards. Plus, the beds were super uncomfortable, my back hurt after waking up. I’d rather sleep on the floor at this point.

It was very noise during sleep and the curtain was not fully covered the light.

The front desk staff was very unhelpful and rude. If a guest shows up an hour early for check in and the room is clean and ready, please teach your staff to be kind enough to let them check in. Every other hotel on the planet let's guests check in early if the room is ready. Asking for $25.00 extra just for an hour is beyond ridiculous. We will never stay at another hotel owned by Choice Hotels. Very disappointed with your unreasonable policies.

Room was clean and check in was fast and easy

Room was better than expected. Bed was comfortable and I did not hear any noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms. The breakfast was good as well

The site was in a perfect location. About 2 minutes from a mall and about 15-20 minutes to Mission Beach. The room was clean and we enjoyed having the king bed suite that came with an extra bedroom. Perfect for our little family. The continental breakfast was fresh and always full so we didn’t have to worry about food running out. The pool was clean and perfect temp. We definitely will be coming back

There were guests smoking marijuana in the parking lot near the handicap ramp and the main entrance to the hotel. There could have been a better place for them to do that. Hotel staff was okay, but not worth writing home about.

Very clean and not far from many attractions in San Diego. Only issue was the loud AC unit.
