The outside of thr hotel and the area doesnt look great, but once you walk in, it is beautiful, trendy, and welcoming. The staff was excellent. Very attentive and kind, great customer service. The building is old, I get that, but it didnt feel as nice or as "renewed" as the previous reviews made it seem. Our room felt like an after thought, rather than a planned room. And the furniture wasn't great. It seemed very cheap and like it was falling apart. The cabinets, also. The bathroom door was a sliding door that didnt shut all the way, it was way too small for the door space. And while everything seemed like it had been cleaned on the surface, there was a lot of mold in the shower and it seemed like it had been painted or caulked over a few times instead of cleaned well or fixed. The bed was extremely comfortable and seemed very clean, but I just didnt feel comfortable there. The lobby is great for photos. And the staff is amazing. But the upkeep and cleaning needs to be focused on. The location is fantastic and I think it has potential. But some much needed repairs, updates. And cleaning could make thisnplace worth the 5 star review. I noticed some reviews mentioned it was great for couples. Im not really sure why it said that. There was nothing better or worse for anyone, let alone couples.

Nice for a short 2-3 day stay. Conveniently located to downtown, highways, and university.

Everything!!! It was nothing to not love

The room was acceptable, but the breakfast was repetitive and lacked variety. The real problem, however, was the hotel’s completely unacceptable handling of the invoice. Despite numerous requests, I never received an invoice. The hotel simply shifted responsibility to Booking.com instead of resolving the issue. Even after an official complaint, they ignored both my emails and Booking.com’s attempts to contact them. For a business traveler, not receiving an invoice means being unable to claim expenses. This level of unprofessionalism, lack of accountability, and complete absence of customer service is unacceptable.

Trundle is a unique property focused on delivering a unique thematic approach to their hotel services to both business and personal customers. I found the facility condition and breakfast offerings excellent. They are also convenient to downtown and University of South Carolina. Perhaps most important, their rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.

Loved this hotel! Clean, easy to get to, parking right next to the building. The lobby is adorable and the beds are soooo comfy!

Beautiful hotel in a convenient location with parking on site for $18 a night. Staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful and the room was spotlessly clean. Only downsides were not enough places to put stuff in the bathroom and the water pressure was poor. The room was pretty dark too. The good bits definitely outweighed any downsides and I'd happily stay there again.

Great experience. I was expecting a different breakfast experience, but it worked out with having a fridge. Everything else was too notch!

What a hidden jewel in downtown Columbia, SC. The location is fantastic for a walking tour of restaurants and other points of interest. Hotel Trundle is a delight from check in to check out. The staff are welcoming, informative, cheerful, and downright fun. The rooms are glorious. Spacious, clean, and quiet. The lobby is a delightful area of eye catching artwork, collectables, and nooks for reading or conversation. In an area where parking can be a nightmare, Hotel Trundle has their own space where guests can easily park and access their vehicles. Walk, explore or just while away the afternoon people watching in the hotel's curbside table and chairs. You'll be glad you chose Hotel Trundle. We certainly were!

This is a decent two or three star hotel. This is not a four or five star hotel. It is nowhere near the quality, cleanliness, and service of a Marriott.
