Sheraton Columbia Downtown Hotel

This is really cool hotel, right on Main Street, walkable to everything. Make sure you go to the rooftop lounge, really pretty view of the skyline.

The hotels in a great location. Not much of a lobby. The bar is on the roof, which is not half bad. The rooms are OK a little dated but OK. it is clean, which is a plus. I didn’t see any particular restaurant in the hotel if you wanted to grab something quick. The valet gets very overwhelmed and we ended up waiting for a car for over half an hour one day.

Excellent location, you can walk to almost any prime dinner location in downtown Columbia. Beds are small in a double, but plenty of clean towels. Staff is very nice a helpful. Biggest disappointment is the parking, $33/day is outrageous. Also the"rooftop" bar is completely enclosed and not as advertised.

Good place will sty again

It was a former bank in Columbia, South Carolina in a way. I understand it when the first ones. Other than that, I probably more likely would not stay in the hotel again. The room I had was painted two different colors of white because they had to do maintenance. The shower was big enough. Other than that for the price no reason to stay again. Had to pay for parking as usual for most hotels nowadays. Other than they had a rooftop bar, that’s about it.

The negatives were: 1) there was no (did not even turn on) hot water in the bathroom sink. 2) The hot water in the shower got the water temperature to "almost" warm. 3) The rooftop bar had no sodas, no diet sodas, no club soda (the only mixer was Starry, a lemon lime soda). 4) The couple beside us ordered Brownie a la mode and it arrived as brownies with no ice cream (it then took almost 10 minutes to get a scoop of ice cream delivered from the kitchen). 5) The protective glass around the rooftop was very dirty and really took away from a great sunset view. A lot of small details that if taken care of would make this a really nice place to stay when visiting downtown Columbia.

Please pay attention to your bill. They will charge you $35 a day for valet which i thought was free. I could park my own car. They need to mention these exploitation fee that we are not aware of. When I arrived I called the front desk to ask where do we park. She said go to valet so I went because I went to a many places with free valet especially in a downtown area. Only found out after checking out and checking my bank statements. Beware! I'm going to dispute these charges.

Caroline at the front desk is TOP notch!! I wish every hotel had one of her! The Vault was great, the room was perfect, just an all around awesome stay! We'll be back!

Okay hotel that didn't meet the expectations! Problems with room were trivialize which lowered my expectations!
