Residence Inn by Marriott Coralville

I liked the location.

Our bathtub had a huge chip/hole in the tub.

Staff is really nice.

Shower was filthy and our door broke entering the room

Good hotel. Great staff

Breakfast was minimal. Staff couldn't keep up with breakfast items, toaster didn't work, stuck with cereal and bread most of the time. No Hot tub, it was boarded up. The pool had chunks of the floor all over in the base. Pool room walls were full of water droplets, and rust from no ventilation. Hotel room door frame looked like someone kicked it in. Fees charged/reserved at check in with no notification of it being deducted.

The water when wanting to take a shower was room temperature . Didn’t matter what time of the day it was . Even 12:30 at night . It was room temperature . You actually got cold in the shower . Also our door had been broken into at one point . Chop marks on it and the door was cracked . Hot tub was out of service . Chunks of the swimming pool were broke out too .

Our toilet stopped flushing at 4:00am. We had to go down the hall to go to the restroom.

Pleasant staff. Nice room layout.

The room was very good and the pool was great but the exterior was rather worn with broken concrete all over . We have stayed in the Residence Inn in Chapel Hill and the outside is very attractive.

Maintenance was terrible!!!

Hotel is old and rooms need a major renovation… Shower in my room was disgusting, bathroom was gross… Furniture is old & stained. I won’t be staying here again.

The front desk staff was very unfriendly. When we greeted the person checking us in and asked "how are you?" she replied with "i've been better." She seemed annoyed by us and her job. Too bad that she is your front line cuz the hotel itself was beautiful and comfortable.

It's a good stay. Everything is very compact and efficient in this Studio-like hotel room. The appliances (kitchen and laundry) were nothing special but they got the job done. The outlets in the kitchen had child-proofing that worked so well that I couldn't even plug anything in. Thankfully the staff were very kind and were able to send someone to help! The breakfast was a little bare bones (only a handful of selections every morning) but I wasn't really eating there that much anyway. Everything regarding the room and hotel was clean. Only the elevator was a little dirty. This hotel is close to train tracks so expect to hear that in the middle of the night sometimes. Overall, the bad things weren't really a bother to me at all, so I recommend this place!
