The accommodations weren’t as historic or charming as we’d hoped. The property could benefit from a bit of a refresh. That said, it was comfortable, served its purpose for a one-night stay, and offered good value thanks to its convenient location and free parking.

Would highly recommend both the hotel and restaurant. Definitely will return on our next road trip. Thanks to all the amazing staff and their hospitality

Large and clean room

21 steps to the second floor was a bit of a climb, but we survived 😁 Great accommodations, large room, nice mattress and furnishings. A bit of confusion checking in, but sorted out quickly. Right in the middle of the historic district.

Nice, small inn in the heart of a charming town.

We had a HUGE room with fireplace overlooking Main Street. Surprisingly quiet considering the location, which puts you right in the middle of the action. Plenty to do (and eat 😊) within walking distance.

The room is attractive, comfortable, and clean. The location is ideal for exploring the town. I highly recommend it.

This room (#4) was so cute and nostalgic. I love the journal and the entries from previous guests. We were in town for my son's Cornell graduation and it was also glass fest weekend. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Perfect location and spotless clean.

Location is downtown. Room needs updated. Difficult to get to with your suitcases.

Great Place All Good

The pictures online were deceiving. This is an inn above a burger joint that we entered through a back lot full of smelly dumpsters. Upon seeing our room, furniture a la 1975 and of dubious cleanliness, we decided not to stay. Exiting the back way to our car took us down a literal fire escape. I'm sure it suffices for some, but this seems better for transients than actual tourists to the Corning area.

WSe liked the roominess 500 sq ft and the decor which was not standard high or low-end furnishings and wall art. It's location for seeing the wonderful Corning Museum is perfect--a nice walk. We'll go back when we're next in Finger Lakes.

Great location right in the heart of things.

Was exactly wha we where looking for, in the middle of Market Street, perfect!

Spotless room, impeccable service, great location. Very accommodating to our needs. Recommend 100%

We really liked this place. The room was spacious and cozy, and the living room with the fireplace was honestly the best part. Location is perfect — right in the center of town. Parking is nearby, and it’s free on weekends and holidays, which was a nice bonus Big downside: the entrance is a steep metal staircase. With suitcases it’s a pain, and in the dark / during snowfall it was especially uncomfortable. Still, we’d come back.

Comfy spot in the middle of a lovely town. Not a problem for us but the stairs might be tough for some folks

The room is nice but was not prepared for the difficulty finding parking. Only on street and small lot in back which was full. Had to drive around to find parking. Had to use codes to check in which took awhile to figure out but eventually worked.

The Gaffer Inn is above a burger joint in town. I got there around 4:30 and parked right behind the place, in the municiple parking lot, expecting to be checked in. As I got out of my car, I noticed there were two men sitting outside the restaurant and smoking and, at first, I thought they were cooks - until I realized the restaurant (like at least half the stores in town) was closed. That didn’t feel comforable. Then I tried to check in....but nobody was there. I walked around to the front of the building...but nobody was there...and It was getting dark. I called the Gaffer Inn and got an answering service, and was told they would call someone who would get back to me. I waited. Then a man called and said he left me a message earlier that day with the code for the some door (that wasn't marked) to access the Gaffer Inn rental. I didn't get the code, but by that time, it didn’t matter - I was there to check in and all I got was a faceless voice telling me I should have gotten a code to some door somewhere. I was feeling very uncomfortable and told the man I didn’t want to stay there. He was annoyed and told me to take it up with hotels.com. Terrible experience. I was glad I was able to get a room at the Staybridge Suites.
