Lots to do. Great for families

Overall beautiful hotel by the beach, wonderful location, and very friendly staff. But for a 4 star hotel I didn't expect the towels to be old and ripped. A little overpriced.

The cleaning service didn’t come one day, didn’t clean cups another day and there were somebody’s fingernail clippings on the floor when we arrived - which was gross. Overall I would recommend staying here, just know what to expect.

I’m not even sure where to start, but I guess from the beginning. We came here for my wife's birthday, it's literally all she wanted. We have also never been here before. So we arrive to valet from Orange ave and find out that it is not the valet for the front of the hotel ,no big. deal. They still took our car, but they did not tell us we could go up the stairs to walk through the courtyard to arrive at the reception area and check in. They also did not give us any assistance with our bags. Not knowing this, what do we go? and more importantly what did they watch us do? Walk back out to Orange Ave WITH all of our bags, where we proceeded to go down the road until we got to Avenida Del Sol. Once we got to the front of the hotel is when we realized there was valet up there and they just opted to not tell us. From here our room was not ready, but they gave us keys anyways and told us we would receive a text at 4 with our room. Okay great. 4:50 PM comes around and no room still. We finally get a room around 5:33 after finding out my information and card, even though it was charged the $150, was not added to the check in information sheet we did earlier in the day when given our keys. Fast forward since im running out of space, because believe me, there is so much more that went wrong, we had to change rooms at almost 10 pm and the next morning we were walked in on by housekeeping because they were unaware the room was assigned and occupied, and had to get it ready.

Early checking was offered but not delivered. When normal check-in came around the room was still not available until we called and visited front desk after the regular check in time. This created alot of inconvenience for us and we had to change our plans in the even because of this. We requested wine glasses and a wine opener to be delivered to the room, but it was never delivered until 2 hours later after several requests. We made special cleaning request for floor vacuum but it was not done, even though we tipped and left a kind note. This level of service is not the expectation we had for a reputable hotel like del coronado.

The best place to stay in San Diego. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

booo, I will never ever stay at this place again.... check in was at 4:00 PM, our room was ready at 5:30 (after a few conversations with the front desk...) it was my b-day, It was ruined.. as a compensation they offered us was a $10 battle of a cheap champagne... please, for a $1,000 a nigh stay at this hotel?????... the room was ok, but not what I expected for a the price, patio furniture pillows were damaged, dirty... we were not able to enjoy the stay... per the fort desk -we received a great room...NO..WE DID NOT!!

This property is not ADA compliant and price gouges you at every turn. The parking garage is 1/2 mile from the Views and no transport is offered. I made it to the desk and requested a wheelchair and they said $20 a day. Parking is $60 per day. We were trapped twice when our keypads didn't work. We had to get new key cards 4 times and stand in line for 20 minutes! The shower door leaked on the floor which is very dangerous for slipping. I could write a book of complaints but bottom line don't stay here.

What a wonderful hotel! Very expensive to eat onsite but we enjoyed the building. It should be noted that the ocean no is no longer considered safe to swim in. I understand why this is kept hush hush, but it was disappointing to learn that San Diego waters are filled with sewage from Mexico. That said I would come back to the town in an instant (just not the beach.)

This property is amazing and set up really well for families. We had two criticisms. First, we had an unclean shower and told the staff who promised to clean it. They did not. Second, the hotel’s goods and services are very highly priced (and everything is a cost), which is somewhat disappointing given the price of the hotel. For example, a 20 oz. Soda in the store is $8. Overall a good experience, but I would likely choose somewhere else next time.

Enjoyed our stay immensely. The property and the beach are beautiful and we always enjoy downtown Coronado.

This evil hotel did not warn you ahead of time, nor when you check in. I was rejected asking for a cancellation and they did not even refund the resort fee, even though nothing on the beach could safely occur. Hotel and grounds are pretty, but what is the point of staying at a beachfront resort if you cannot use the beach or go in the water. Check in took longer than average, and the key cards I received did not work so I had to walk back and have them fixed. Checkout is at 11:00 however we had housekeeping knocking on the door to clean before 10:00 am and then again at 10:00 am. Worst stay at a resort I ever had, avoid this place and Coronado island at all costs.

Upon check in there was confusion surrounding my reservation. Expedia had listed it as half paid upon booking and the hotel listed it as 100% payable upon check in. This communication error caused a delay in our check in. We stayed in The Views, on the second floor overlooking the garden and it was a beautifully appointed room, spacious and newly renovated. The building itself required a key card for access which made us feel safe since the property is public beach facing, however the beach front door was broken and left open for 24 hrs without servicing which made us feel like our safety was compromised. The main pool was so crowded it was basically useless. We stepped away for lunch on the deck overlooking the pool, we were gone less than an hour and the pool staff collected our towels and personal items and moved them. We ran down to stop what they were doing and were met with rudeness and scolding for leaving the chairs. How dare we go and spend $200 on lunch at the restaurant next to the pool. Sheesh. Overall, I would not stay at The Del again during peak summer months, it's way to crowded and open to the public. It was not a relaxing and quiet resort by any means.

We are staying here now and the location and facilities are beautiful but the service is below motel 6. We started with a cold greeting and no personality at check in then we were sitting in our room the next day with a do not disturb sign on and a family walked in and thought it was their room. They were given a key to our room. They left and I contact the front desk and after being placed on hold for 5 minutes I explained the situation. They said security would bring us new keys in 15 minutes and apologized for their error. After 30 minutes I called back and asked where they were because we were waiting to go to the pool. Our room was $1,100 per night and we paid $93 for three 1 quart bottles of water and three coffees so the least they could do is provide decent customer service. Nope. She said she would check and call me back and offered a $100 resort credit. Asked to speak to the GM and they gave me the front desk manager, no access to the GM. Apparently they are super important people. Never got a call back so we went and spent the day on the beach. Came back and we were locked out of our room. Went to the front desk which is a long walk from the cabana rooms and all we got were apologies and new keys. I said keep your resort credit that’s a slap in the face but I will make sure others know to anticipate lousy service for that thousand dollar a night room.

    We would stay here again

Charge 5 star prices for 3 star service. One and done experience.

We had a great time for the 2 days there. Luckily it was not exceeding crowed (for mid July) which made reservations and use of the facilities easy. Did not expect it to be as much of a family place as it was, but that was great to see. Love the beach but beware of the water because of the Tijuana river pollution.

Came here for an overnight weekend stay with my family, was the perfect getaway!
