Super 8 by Wyndham Davenport

The check-in staff was off-putting, uninterested, and ignored my presence at check-in. They have some interesting charges/deposits for lost keys and/or potential liabilities, but I am not 100% knowledgeable on Iowa laws, so they make be acceptable but are definitely not advertised prior to booking. Also, the pool is closed, which they only identify upon check-in, and had I known, I may have stayed at another local establishment.

Do not go there is you want to have a pool. They have zero intention of ever opening their pool. They have boxes filled with files in their pool area. Yet their sign even states they have a heated pool! We were there for two days and they never filled the pancake machine. There is fire damage in their lobby. I was highly disappointed with this hotel. I only booked it because they had a pool and breakfast and both were a lie. Don’t go there! When reported to hotels.com they stated that it states the pool is closed. Well that was another lie. And guess what it still states there is a pool. After looking deeper in the reviews it looks like the pool has been closed for about 2 years. They told customer service that this is why the price is so low. The price was not low and they lied.

It was what I paid for....cheap hotel. It was clean, didnt have much for for amenities and not much for a breakfast, but it was alot less expensive than other hotels.

The front desk guy was extremely rude. Canceled our reservation and we got trespassed over a comment I made to my husband about not ringing the bell.

Very beautiful hotel nice decor and I got a single with a king for $59 including tax can't beat that!

Solid stay, smooth check in and check out.

When asked about the pool, staff said there is no pool even with me standing at the pool door with my two kids. The breakfast wasn't actually available. Staff was rude when asked about anything. Black mold in the windows and heater/ac unit. The door latch lock was broken off the door to our room and when asked for a new one or a new room the desk lady tried refusing at first too saying it would be done tomorrow to anything I said it was done later that day as they didn't want to move us. They over charge for pets. Plus holding a separate deposit for the room.

Bad

AC worked perfectly Normal room beds high Handicap room/with shower only beds are normal height. Which worked perfectly for my handicapped husband.

For the price this was a pretty nice place.

Superb

Rooms were clean and so was the hotel. The lobby was sensational. A dresser drawer missing a roller channel was our only issue. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I’d give it a 9 and would stay again.

Worst hotel i have ever stayed at.

Parking was adequate. I learned that coffee machine was available 24/7 so my concern that I could only brew decade in my room seems irrelevant. The waffle or pancake option was unavailable which is too bad. The mini fridge froze my items but was great for my purchased drinks. The towels and sheets were clean and the shower worked great.
