Best Western University Lodge

Clean room, excellent for travellers with pets. Easy access to snacks and drinks with convenience store across from hotel. My only gripe would be the A/C unit, which is quite noisy.

You can't beat the location, this Best Western is just a block from the UC campus and 3 blocks from the charming downtown & many eateries and brewpubs, very walkable. Plus, also only a block to the lovely university arboretum, which makes for a great walking tour of campus. The BW University Lodge was very clean, very quiet, with helpful staff, and the included hot/cold breakfast --eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, bagels, you-make waffles, fresh fruit, et al -- is pretty sweet. It isn't exactly luxurious BUT for the price (summer rates, after the students had fled) I don't think you can a better all-around place to put in. You can leave your car at the motel and walk everywhere!!

Location is key. This is right in the heart of downtown but far enough away from the downtown bar scene late night!

Clean room, free breakfast and parking, convenience location to walking around. We stayed in the end unit which close to the dumpster, waking up by the noise in the early morning.

The room and hotel in general was Best Western quality. The staff was exceptional, especially Daniel who made sure mine and my sister's rooms close to each other. The price was Hyatt. Over $800 for 3 nights was outrageous.

Great location for visiting UC Davis! It’s perfectly fine- big stain on carpet and lots of bright lights right our windows, but we were comfortable and safe and clean

Unfortunately, our bathtub drain was clogged for the first two days of our stay, so every shower resulted in standing in several inches of dirty water until maintenance was able to unclog it. Housekeeping was also limited, as rooms are not serviced until the third day of a guest’s stay. While this may be hotel policy, it would have been helpful to know in advance. In addition, one of the male employees at the front desk was not particularly friendly or welcoming, although we did not get his name. The biggest disappointment was the price. Rates were increased dramatically for graduation weekend, and the overall experience did not justify the premium cost. I was also told there were no rooms available with two beds for the duration of my stay. However, my aunt checked in the following day and was assigned the room next to ours, which had two double beds available. Overall, the location was convenient for visiting UC Davis, but the condition of the hotel, service issues, and inflated graduation weekend pricing made it difficult to feel that the stay was a good value.

It seemed like it was clean enough, but it didn’t feel clean. This might be my own bias because the sheets in the bed were made nicely and the bathroom was white and sparkling, clean appearing. But I just got the ik staying there.

I inadvertently left my IPad in my room after checkout and they called me to let me know. that was AMAZING. Thanks so much!! When we got there to check in, there was a sign saying they'd be back in 45 min from lunch break.

Nice staff, great location within downtown Davis, and quiet. The breakfast had a lot of options, but the quality of the food was poor. For example, the eggs tasted fake.

Breaas clean and quietkfast was fresh and tasty with a big variety. Hours were good also.

This lodge had the best breakfast ever! It is also within walking distance of the university, as well as downtown amenities which is a huge plus. Staff members were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay!

Best western was an excellent stay. Center to uc davis...no need o hassle with parking. Left the car at the hotel and walked to have dinner and to the campus. A big plus is that it is small only 2 floors. The front desk were superb. They were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the city and university

Definitely recommend this place really good location and close to everything

Great stay. Small rooms but nice and clean. Breakfast was good ( waffles eggs bacon sausage and fruit/ pastries) 😋
