Hilton Garden Inn Davis Downtown

Great overall, the new Japanese Restaurant Izakaya was the bomb. Have a fantastic dinner. Only downside is they are remodeling

Room is very clean.

The hotel is in a convenient location, but that’s about it. Most of the staff was kind and helpful. The lobby was nice, but my room was not very clean. The building is a bit older, which I don’t typically mind, but I would think they would make up for it by keeping up with the rooms. When I arrived, there was hair in the restroom, on the counter, and on the door. The restroom also had an odd splatter stain on the wall and the little shelf in the shower was falling off. The AC was great though!

Location was great. Getting room cleaned daily was inconsistent.

It was a poor stay. First I had booked the wrong day and the hotel was able to help in changing the date so I ended up paying for two days for one night. Second they wanted $18.50 on top of the two days payment to stay one night or to park my car. The breakfast appeared to be a standard hotel breakfast but they wanted $15 for it. Worst of all my room number 173 was right near an exit and beginning at six in the morning, that door would slam every time somebody left waking me up. Finally, the train tracks are right next-door and the train starts blowing its horn multiple times throughout the morning, waking me up as well. I would never stay here again.

They don’t clean your room unless you ask them and when they do, they don’t actually clean. The sink is still dirty, they don’t leave new soaps, etc. The breakfast was unimpressive. Pastries were not fresh, egg was overcooked, etc.

You do get complimentary ear plugs for the train which helped for that noise but I was not prepared for the noise from the upstairs rooms late at night. Everyone should wear the ear plugs!

Loved the location of the hotel in the middle of downtown Davis! Loved to hear the train go by too!! Comfortable beds!!
