Hilton Boston/Dedham

Leaving! This property in its heyday was probably quite a nice place. Now it is a relic of a property being held together with duct tape and a poorly trained staff.

Location was suitable as I had a meeting in the area. However I booked this property because Expedia listed an onsite pool as part of the amenities. Checked in and found out that the pool has been closed for years since Covid. False advertising and marketing.

Front desk has been absolutely terrible with providing help.

Other than that, it was okay room, but there was leakage everywhere throughout the hotel. Just an enormous amount of leaky ceilings everywhere.

My hotel room itself was very clean. There was a distinct mildew smell in the hallways. And there was a huge hole in the ceiling in the hallway for the first floor that was disconcerting to see. It's also a very odd building. The lobby looked nice and the Bar looked nice and my bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but that's just odd damp feeling throughout the hallways.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Amenities were limited, A/C was inadequate, ice maker on the fritz. They have a definite rodent problem as I spotted one in my room both nights that I stayed. Others in my party also saw them.

The drinks at the bar were very overpriced

Didn't like being on the first floor, but besides that the room was nice, the staff was helpful, and it was a good stay overall.

It was close to where we wanted to go in Boston. The rooms were really quite shabby. The carpet was actually a little dangerous as it was stretched and had lots of humps and bumps in in. Our bathroom was shower enclosure was pretty scared and looked dirty, ugh. The wall paper was applied overtop of wallpaper and the toilet paper holder was loose and falling off. Staff was a little edgy when we asked to get coffee after we arrived around 4PM after a long trip. Told us only available was in restuarant which did not open until 7AM next day or make it in room. No service whatsoever.

I get a room with 2 full beds instead. I call upstairs to complain? Oops, sorry, "shoulda booked direct." Woke late, 11Am - see the maid watch me leave. Was my room cleaned? Nope and "housekeeping is gone for the day." I must havs called 3x for clean towels, assured they'd come by - i finally went to the desk the following morning to get them from an annoyed staffer. Its a shame too. I used to like staying there

The fire alarm went off at 2am for at least an hour and my room door was left unlocked after it was cleaned by hotel staff. I informed the front desk of my complaints and all I got was a stare. Not even an apology...

When we arrived to check in, we were told that we had to wait 40 minutes because, despite having a reservation, the hotel was fully booked and there were no king-bed rooms available. After waiting for an hour, we were finally assigned a room, only to have to wait another 30 minutes for a technician to check the air conditioning because it wasn’t working. We were then told that we would have to be moved to another room because the AC was broken. We were moved to a second room, and, to our surprise, the air conditioning was also not working. Once again, we had to change rooms. We were assigned a third room, but when we entered, the room was already occupied and contained other guests’ belongings. Once again, we had to change rooms. Finally, we were given another room, which smelled strongly of cigarettes and had mold in the bathroom and throughout the hallways. We arrived at 3 PM and didn’t actually get a room until 7 PM. We spent four hours being moved from one room to another, with one problem after another. It was an extremely unpleasant experience. And, in the end, the only compensation they offered was a “buffet” breakfast that was incredibly disappointing, consisting of cold eggs, hard bacon, and coffee. Honestly, this was a horrible experience, especially considering that this is a large hotel chain and that the reservation was far from inexpensive. I expected a much higher standard
