Grande Denali Lodge

Room was mediocre and property was not as advertised. The lack of parking prevented us from driving our vehicle to go to dinner as there wouldn’t be any room to park when we returned. Road to the property was horrible and nothing in advertising has prepared us. Staff was not friendly. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Booked excursions through hotel but ATV tour never showed up. Kids were so sad and whole day got wasted because of them

Well our hotel was not open due to some “ technical “ issues and we ended up staying at the sister property Denali Bluffs. They TOTALLY saved the day even though they were not ready to open Outstanding job team!!!!!! Especially the barman who was a character and totally made it all worthwhile. These guys went above and beyond to save the day!!! Awesome job! Well we slept on the mattress protector as they literally scrambled to open but everything else they did was above and beyond!

Location and view! High price.

Beautiful property. Unfortunately they cancelled our first night there due to frozen pipes and no water so we were only able to stay one night Our second night we stayed there. Our room was nice but clearly had not been looked at closely before renting it to us. A big picture was missing from the wall , only the metal brackets were there. Also the smoke detector hung down from the ceiling by a wire. Considering what a room costs, this was not ok

We stay at a different hotel, The Denali Bluffs Hotel. Check-in was very long and there was only one person checking everyone in. The food was pricey and was served cold. The rooms were clean and nice. The views were great from the patio.

Very clean rooms and friendly staff

Location was great, beautiful view. Staff were very friendly, informative and kind. The room was lovely and very clean. Unfortunately we were redirected from the grande Denali Lodge to their sister property due to issues. The room we got had recently been renovate, which was lovely. however did not have a bathroom door, so no privacy. It also did not have a telephone or a working tv. We did mention all of this to the reception staff however there was no resolution. So for two nights we had no bathroom privacy or tv. I do think for the price we paid there could have been a new room assigned.

Staff friendly. Could not stay at Grande Denali Lodge since they had no water. We were automatically transferred to Denali Bluffs, a sister lodge. We should have been notified of this ASAP in order for us the have the option to rebook of a place of our choice. The first night the entire lodge had no hot water. The bathrooms in the main lodge were not working. There were many other things not working or were not available. Staff did their best and I felt bad for them.

Due to a pump issue Grand Denali ended up accomodating me at their sister property Denali Bluffs instead. While it wasn’t what I’d booked I was very impressed with the communication by staff and the efforts they made to accomodate the change including room discounts. For an early morning transfer to the bus depot outside their normal shuttle schedule Nova from front desk drove me herself which was very generous and saved me the $200 out of hours transfer another shuttle company was charging! The rooms are comfy, cosy, clean and quiet. Hot water was a bit of an issue but as it was the start of season, understandable. The first night it was lukewarm and the second none at all, but the heater kept the room perfectly warm so a quick cold shower wasn’t a problem

Lamp USB connections didn't work.

Location was beautiful We were near the end near the septic tank and it stunk bad!! Only breakfast option was the $33 buffet.

Our room was comfortable ... but the room was a very long walk from the lobby. Breakfast in the dining room was very expensive for a buffet where almost nothing was left.

The location was convenient to the park. The buffet breakfast was very good. Thee rooms were very translucent. You could hear conversations and water running from the other rooms.

The location was nice, being up on a mountain. Too highly priced for a basic room. View was of the parking lot and hillside right there. The building was separate from the lodge; so to go to our room we entered a very basic door, down a long narrow hallway, to one working elevator, up to another long narrow hallway with basic windows (even though that side of the hallway would provide decent views if the windows were nice). Everything felt bare and stark. The lodge has a restaurant, but the whole dining room was closed, presumably because we were there the final night of the season. We had an overpriced bad salmon dinner sitting along the backside of the bar. If you’re not going to offer all services for the best experience, then put that out there so we know before booking, and discount your prices! We didn’t have breakfast here, but that dining area was at the hillside end of the lodge, and the only option for breakfast was a $25 per person buffet.

We had a great stay at the Grande Denali Lodge. Rooms were clean and comfortable and warm for September. We ate dinner one night at the lodge as they were getting ready to close for the season. Pricey, but the food was good. We didn't use it again because of end of season, but the coffee bar and snack station seemed like they would be helpful for stocking up for a day in Denali. The location was fantastic! Five minutes from the park entrance and right by food and shops outside the park. We had a car which made it very accessible. It can be noisy in the rooms. The doors aren't flush with the frame, and you can hear everything in the hallway. We were there at the very end of the season, so it wasn't too bad but can imagine it would be noisy in high season. Food is good but expensive at the lodge, even for the area.

The room was spacious and the location was absolutely stunning. 2-5 mins from gift stores and eating places and 10 mins from the Denali National Park. We stayed there during 09/17-09/18 and it was one of the last days that they were open for the season. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They allowed us to borrow their bear spray for free. They even asked if we'd like to be on the call list for the Auroras and then gave us a call around 3am to view the Auroras in the lobby. Room was well kept and had all the amenities. We opted for 2 queen size beds and it was very comfortable. Limited Parking space. Road uphill is unpaved but there are mirrors are the turns to check for oncoming vehicles so it's not a deal breaker.
