Great location near downtown. Gas stations nearby for easy accessibility to drinks and snacks. Close enough to find scooters and bikes and explore downtown. Staff were helpful in asking local questions of great spots to eat and explore.

The staff was great. We stayed 3 days and no one came to the room to change towels out. Had to go get them from the front desk. Little out dated but with a little charm. Good location everything within walking distance. Over all good time.

    Not great

My room had not been cleaned The only thing they had done has changed the sheets... and when I brought it up to the daytime male worker at the counter he walked up to the room looked around and said oh it's perfectly clean which it was not. it wasn't until after he left and he refused to switch me rooms that I opened the drawers to find it full of cigarettes and ashes and packets of sour cream it was horrible. thankfully the gentleman at night named Greg was absolutely awesome he deserves a raise.

1.No hot water? Tepped at best. Glad it is summer. 2.No blow dryer or Iron. 3. Bathroom door mangled and didn't shut? 4. No toilet paper holder. 5. No bottom plate for the microwave 6. Cob webs on the roof inside the room. 7. The paint in the room was old and dirty. 8. I was scared to get under the sheets for fear of bed bugs.. I have to say this hotel was GHETTO and shouldn't be listed on expedia?

    Dirty room terrible place

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

At one point, I became trapped inside my room because the door wouldn't open due to what appeared to be a damaged or previously tampered-with hinge. I tried to use the window as an emergency exit, but it would only open about an inch or two because of a window blocker. Thankfully, the employees were kind and responded quickly. They eventually had to remove the window so I could get out safely. After that incident, I no longer felt comfortable staying in that room, so I spent the rest of my stay in my friend's room. I didn't even stay in my assigned room for 24 hours because of what happened. Since then, I've been trying to contact the hotel about receiving a refund due to the serious safety concern, but I haven't been able to get a response. I truly appreciate how kind and helpful the employees were during the situation, but no guest should ever become trapped inside their hotel room. This is a serious safety issue that I hope the hotel addresses so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Staff was great - room was better than expected for a lower standard room.

Best BANG for the BUCK. I love walking and riding bikes everywhere. The Highlands THE coolest spot in Denver and I love staying here. Cool little bistros, coffee shops and bars. Also, bike riding/walking distance to downtown. Great cityscape views. Total hipster paradise, and I love it. If you're looking for 5 star, this isn't it. I wish others' wouldn't leave bad reviews of this place. They like saving money and then b--- that it's not the Ritz Carlton. Stay away and leave the savings for the rest of us. : )

    BREAKFAST WAS NOT THAT GOOD

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Breakfast was terrible . A/C also didn’t work properly

The property consisted of one main building and two outer motel type buildings. I was put in one of the outer buildings. I had to take the elevator in the main building (which was graffiti-laden) to an upper floor, walk through the building, and outside to the motel type building which was littered and dirty. I passed rooms to get to mine, which had ripped curtains and stained doors. The room was very basic, somewhat clean. There was no breakfast, as stated, in the morning; there was no gift shop, as stated, and there were several "unsavory" characters hanging around the buildings. I attempted to change my reservation and check out one night early. I was not allowed to do that. I felt uncomfortable staying there, so I just left. I realized, later, that I left my pajamas on the hook on the back of the bathroom door. When I called about it, they said they did not find them, which did not surprise me. I would recommend that you check these places out personally before recommending them. I was thoroughly uncomfortable and unhappy with this choice.

I didn’t care for the homeless (or people that just looked homeless) that were constantly outside and around the building at any given time of day.

Definitely an older property. Feels a little under maintained, but good for the price. bathrooms were a little dirty.

My room was never cleaned during my entire stay. When I reported that the shower was leaking on the first day, I was simply given towels to put on the floor and told that maintenance would be notified. The leak was never repaired before I checked out. The bathroom was in poor condition, with mold, cracked tiles, dirty grout, and missing caulking around the countertop. The towels shed fibers everywhere, and the refrigerator barely kept anything cold. Breakfast was equally disappointing. The coffee somehow managed to be both weak and extremely bitter, and the selection consisted mainly of very low-quality pastries and sugary breakfast cereals. The only positive aspect of this hotel was its convenient location. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall quality.
