Homewood Suites by Hilton Des Moines Airport

Did have a problem with checking in... asked for adjoining or close proximity for group for a wedding. Our room was for two days and all others were for day of wedding. Check-in time was late. Asked for early check-in but they let the prior quests have a late check-out. Had to use another room to get ready for the wedding and was not able to get back to check-in until reception was over at midnight. Didn't even apologize for the inconvenience.

Overall, this day was OK unfortunately there were some neighbors and I could hear their dogs, but I know that that’s not the hotel’s fault. I will say, though that there was staining on the couches and the couch bed. It’s about 2 inches thick once you’re sitting on it so not ideal but we made it work.

What I didn’t like was I woke up to old water on the shower wss told it would be right. It took over 2 hrs. With the way things went it set behind. Pretty badly for the day. Everytime I asked about the situation the manager was never there. Well, he must have been gone the whole time, because for the next 3 days he must not have been there to ask us what our concern was. So even when leaving he wasn’t. I would pass on this one. I guess they don’t care about their guests. I also would give the Italian steak house by and high ratings either. It tried to pass over sirloins as for Filet Migeon.

The shower water never became warm or hot, we had to request dish soap from the front desk. Would have enjoyed fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet, otherwise the food was great. The staff was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable.

There was a couple of days where I had no hot water in the room.

We checked in on July 3rd and left on July 6th. The water heaters went out (pilot light wouldn't start) on the 3rd so we had to take cold showers for 3 days straight. No notification from the management. No discount or reimbursement for the inconvenience of having to take cold showers every day. Front desk may have been tired of answering questions about the cold water, but she was completely uninterested in helping. The hotel was clean and the breakfast buffet was good, but cold showers ruined our stay.

If I ever need to visit Des Moines again this would be my go to hotel. Everything was wonderful. The hotel was clean, the pool was a nice size, the workout facility was nice. I love the hotel rooms too. The rooms had everything we needed. I needed a two double bed suite but settled for a King suite due to availability. Everything worked out, we used the sofa bed. Breakfast was very delicious and offered a variety of options. It was conveniently located down the street from the airport and only fifteen minutes from my event location. Nice touch having recycle bins throughout the hotel.

Pretty good gym for a hotel and great breakfast (chicken carnitas was amazing!).

Gissele had great customer service and was very helpful. The staff was friendly..The location is great as well.

The room was nice and spacious

Breakfast was very good but staff was not helpful or friendly at all. Person who checked us in didn't greet us or really say anything at all. Had no idea what time breakfast was so had to call the front desk later and ask. Room was nice and bath products were very nice.

The Homesuites by Hilton was incredibly quiet - day and night. The room was spacious, clean and well-kept up. We slept well and also liked having ‘real food’ on offer for breakfast, extra towels, and on-site laundry. One tip would be to bring dishwasher & laundry pods, and maybe some paper towels.

Hotel was nice. Looked like someone forgot to pick up some tissues on the floor. But the rest was nice.

The service of Emily at the front desk was amazing. Emily worked to place all 8 of our families’ rooms on 3rd floor so we could be close together. Great breakfast options and a lot of space for the guests to sit and enjoy breakfast. Pool looked nice but we didn’t get an opportunity to swim. Refrigerator and microwave in the room w pullout couch. Appreciate that bathroom sink is separate from shower and stool. Very close to airport if needed. Not the place to stay if you want to walk near the downtown or river.

The property was clean, the staff was very friendly and most importantly the rooms were so nice. Clean fluffy beds and finally a room that still have microwaves and full size refrigerators in the rooms. Also a space to cook if you wanted to. But they had breakfast too. This hotel is top tier!
